This really should and could be a 5 star experience if service is sorted out. The place wasn’t packed but service was SO slow and food took forever and a day and we ordered a nachos meal to share. Having said that the food was excellent and the margarita cocktail was of the best I’ve had. Decor etc is world class and the DJ on the Friday night creates a great vibe. Worth trying. Go patient.
Thoroughly enjoyed being here with absolutely exceptional Mexican food !! Was so satisfying to the taste Buds and out of this world !! Really worth every dime spent . We were given great service from the time we walked in with an absolutely lovely waitress Mbali she made sure we were happy and enjoyed our time we spent there . ***Please try out different bands/musicians - The ones that were there just mad things a tad bit dull to the atmosphere - However this doesn't change the great service and food quality *** Vegetarian options: Suitable for vegetarians.
Attended on my wife's birthday. She had the steakamazing I had ribs incredible Fries were soo good. Service was great. Manager was inviting and kept asking for us to come back for other upcoming events. **Drinks a very very expensive so come prepared to pay if you want to leave in a wobbly way Will be back
Well my Second time here and my second time very disappointed. I gave this place a second chance thinking that my first bad experience here was just that a one and only bad experience here. Now I can honestly say that I will never ever return to La Rosa Mexican again. Firstly the food was absolutely disgusting with no flavour at all. The drinks was very bad as well it seemed watered down. I have no idea what is happening at this place. Honestly the only good thing there was the friendly staff.
Despite the busy night, I was impressed by the friendly and patient staff. Londi, the waitress who assisted me, provided excellent service. The venue offers ample seating and a variety of tables, including a dedicated smoking room. However, it is worth noting that in busier times, food orders can take between 15-20 minutes to be prepared. I had the Oxacana Lamb Barbacoa and Al Pastor hard shell Taco's. Those are delicious and definitely a must try.
Truthfully, this was a first time visit with an intent to try something new and exciting. Definitely exciting. It was honestly worth the try and it was a good experience. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. It had good energy and good vibes. Our waitress was very accommodating to our unfamiliarity with Mexican food and gave us some good recommendations. She was patient and kind with good energy. The food was different, but GOOOOD! I, personally enjoy vegetables over meat, whereas my partner enjoys meat over vegetables, and we were both gratified with the quality, freshness & tenderness of it all food. For starters we had: A serving of Nachos. For our mains we had: A 'Californian' Burrito & Two servings of the 'Pollo Y Maiz' Tacos. The Price range was pretty affordable. It was not overly priced for a restaurant to dine in. The only minor issue I had was a staff member sweeping the floor at the table next to ours while we ate our starter. I personally feel as though no sweeping should be done while anyone is eating, because it raises dust.
Food was really good, slightly higher priced however the portion sizes are good. Service was good standard as well. Menu has alot of different options to choose from including vegetarian dishes. Loved the soft shell tacos and it was bigger than usual compared to what you get from other restaurants.Food: 4/5
Upmarket Mexican cuisine from this fantastic bar - restaurant. A great place to have a few cocktails and an authentic meal. Lots of options to choose from for any kind of palettes. The soft shell tacos are more authentic as any place I’ve tried in Durban. Lots of tequila options as well, all the way from shots to slow sippers. My go to recommendation are the pineapple and coconut margaritas, super delicious and refreshing and the first thing to order as soon as you sit down. Get yourself a pitcher. Parking: Lots of parking at Suncoast, relatively safe.
Its a very late post,Ive had the pleasure of eating here on 3 occasions, food is always excellent, love the music and the vibe, staff are friendly, our last visit was when Suncoast extended the Real Deal,my friends daughter was our waitress, service was on point,as always the food was goodFood: 4/5
The atmosphere is amazing. Great for a relaxed day and a night out. The drinks were the best. Service was really slow, we had to always look for our waiter. The food looked amazing, but lacked alot of flavour. I thought it was my tongue but my friend said the same thing. We added alot of salt and pepper and condiments just so we can finish it. The pink slaw on the side was even more disappointing. I guess I had high expectations for a Mexican Grille since Mexican food is well known for its flavourful food. I was very disappointed. We wanted to order more, but after the dishes we had, we stopped so we don't get further disappointment. We ordered Churros, worst decision ever. They were so hard we had to fight to bite into them. We bit it off 2 times and told the waiter. He didn't do Nothing about it. Worst assistance of my life with a restaurant. I recommend you only go for drinks.
