My overall experience at the clinic was inconsistent. In the beginning all staff were friendly and helpful. The attention to detail and transparency was refreshing! Before my PRK procedure with Dr Coetzee, I received my prescription and consent letters in time and on the day of the procedure I received an itemised bill and everything was explained in detail. I even got a nice cup of coffee with my R24 000.00 bill. The after care was good. With my corneal cross-linking my prescription was sent a night before after I had to follow up. I don’t know how much it was because, I suppose you don’t get a copy of the bill that they sent to the medical aid?? So no news, I’m hoping means… no co-payment?? I got to the clinic and was surprised to find out that another doctor was doing the procedure… which was a bit stressful, because this was not communicated. The male receptionist was not the friendliest and just gave me the option of waiting for my doctor, very dis-interested… which I found out after asking him, that the doctor was only going to be available after an hour? By that time I was already waiting for a while. The doctor who did my surgery asked to speak to me in the office and she explained very professionally that she normally does these procedures… I really appreciated that she took the time to speak to me. A lovely doctor with great bedside manner! Dr Stacey I was scheduled to do my other eye the next week, Monday… but again, I never received any communication and when I followed up the Monday morning…they advised that I’m not on the theater schedule…. even though they gave me the dates!! Anyway, they confirmed that I can come in and again there was a confusion on who was going to do my surgery. At that point I was just over it and looking forward to be done with all these procedures! So again, I found the experience overall not consistent, and to be honest, mostly not nice. The only person who seemed to be consistently the same at every visit was a technician called Tanya. She was helpful, professional and friendly with everyone…and I say this because I had a lot of time to observe everything and everyone while I waited in reception, during all my visits to the clinic. I’m now healing and I must say that finding out you have a condition then going through a few procedures while still trying to make sense of it all have been a stressful roller coaster.
Best money ever spent. Yes, expensive, but every cent worth it. The doctor spends time, treats you like a person. Service well done, satisfied with the procedure and will recommend a thousand times over.
From being a bat to a SUPER SEE-er! Going to Sandton eye clinic is the best thing someone can do for themselves. The staff is amazing! They are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They take you step by step through everything you need to do and know. And the best feeling, I didn't feel like a number, I felt like a person ...their only client. And the present they gave me was unbelievable. The present of sight . Being able to see, to truly see, the beautiful world we live in. I have no words. Just thank you
Honestly, I don't think a Google Review will do any justice. I've been wearing glasses from a very young age & recently that changed when I came across the Sandton Eye Clinic. The staff is efficient & friendly. Dr Melody Sun is informative & was very caring when she preformed the LASIK procedure as I was rather anxious, she sure knows how to put one at ease. I had my procedure done 30 / 11 / 2022 & the next day was clear as light. Forever grateful towards the Sandton Eye Clinic & Dr Melody Sun as her & the team changed my life! THANK YOU
Thanks Ilka and Hester for sorting out the issues I had previously, in such a professional and friendly manner and making it easy to communicate with your practice. I have since had Presbylasik at Sandton Eye Clinic,with Dr Coetzee and am happy with the outcome.Still have to adjust to the blended vision but my vision is 20/20 ,so very happy. Thanks Dr Coetzee!
If you are looking for exceptional service, Sandton Eye Clinic is the place to go. Ilka went above and beyond to try find the best solution for me, exploring all possibilities and answering all my question. I am yet to go for the surgery but to date they have been very accommodating to me. I look forward to my eye surgery in January.
Before deciding to go to Sandton Eye Clinic, I visited other clinics in Johannesburg for laser eye surgery. SEC and Dr Coetzee turned out to be the best when it comes to expertise, knowledge, experience and service. Genuinely felt like they cared about what they were doing as opposed to a money making scheme like some of the other clinics who wanted to book me in the next day. This amazing service was consistent all the way through to other staff like Nelson who was always friendly and helpful. I am several weeks post-op and have not had any complications. Would highly recommend you check them out and see for yourself. Plus at the time of my visits, consultations before you confirm your laser eye surgery were free.
Dr. Coetzee and the staff at Sandton eye clinic are exceptional, from patient care to the actual surgery, to post op. I went for LASIK and went from a -12.0 to having near perfect vision. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Coetzee is thorough in his assessments and takes the time to get to know his patients. I would 100% recommend Sandton Eye Clinic.
I had a great experience at Sandton Eye Clinic. I had lasik done. Returned the day after my op with perfect vision. Thank you to Dr Coetzee, Nelson and the team for your extra care and making the whole process smooth!
