I have come back to edit my review from a 5 star to a 2 star. My first bad experience today which was appaling to say the least. They had 3 fuel attendants, and there were 3 cars on the fuel stations. One car was empty and locked as client went to the shop, no attendant attending to this car. The other was being attended to by the othe attendant. and then there was my car which needed water, mind you I was there 20 minutes earlier to get lunch as I always come to this garage and had a reasonable experience. Now am back 20 minutes later I ask for water as all containers are empty and the attendant hands me the empty container and points me to where the water is and tells me if you need water you can go get for yourself at the back of the fuel station. Fo starters they were not even busy but just sitting there gazing at the sky and cannot even fetch water for their clients. Well after 10 years of being a loyal customer I won't be visiting this shop anymore. Tomorrow I will take it up with their manager, we can't have rude attendants attending our cars. just for interest sake, I will keep my experience review below just because you once were good people. My perosnal experience has been great. Haven't heard a bad experience here from the fuel attendants to the kitchen staff and cashiers. Manager always has a friendly smile. Gets busy during lunch but that's because their chicken and chips is great.
What in the world is going in here? This garage is open but there’s literally no one. I wanted to fill up, no attendance no cashiers available nothing whats ridiculous is that there are so many paper signs left on the the till. No airtime, data and electricity available. Behind that it says the person who’s meant to be working is in on lunch from 1am to 5am. Longest lunch I’ve ever heard of. Do everyone a favour and close the garage if staff isn’t willing to work at that hour. Just simply close it. Its the second time this year ive come across this at this station. If i had access to management I’d let them know i doubt the owner is aware of whats going on here
I’ve given a 5star rating not on the initial service 1 star but specifically for the way Isaac Garage manager conducted himself in a serious dilemma. He proposed a solution to attempt rectifying the problem, had a humble approach to the mistake, and took full responsibility for his staff members mistake. Not only did he continuously make effort to follow up the next day on the mistake and if everything is going okay but he continued to conduct himself professionally - even thought I was hugely upset and had alot to say - which is difficult to find in todays age. Thank you isaac I hope your professional character gets recognised with in Sasol and that you get promoted. 09/08/2022
I really wish to rate a zero, following the mother of all bad services in the history of bad customer service that I received from a grumpy lady by the name Paulina this morning at Sasol on 29 Hill street. All I wanted was to purchase electricity and for the fact that I did not have a mask on me, I opted to use a window till instead of going inside the shop. I would have appreciated being turned down on my request in a calm manner than being treated like a toddler. In all honesty, this lady Paulina seems to be taking out her frustrations to customers and God knows, if she feels good about herself afterwards. I don't see myself going there anymore, thanks to her bad attitude. I honestly don't need it.
The is a cashier by the name of Dakalo she is the rudest of them all she had been telling customers where to get off and she made a male Customer pass the line because she knew him and when I complained to her that I came first that's when she started venting out that girl deserves to be fired she doesn't know what is customer service
The lady by the name of Rebecca at sasol ferndale 29 hill street next to sars. Was so rude for no reason yesterday morning 29/11/2020. I don’t understand why do they have to hire people with no customer service like seriously it doesn’t make sense. Please to the owner of the petrol station to avoid to be disrespected by your employees please put a disclaimer that you are selling electricity on cash only so that the is no miscommunication and misunderstanding. Clearly some of the employees at the till don’t know how to explain instead they’ll be telling us that they are doing us a favor to sell us electricity. I don’t know how is it a favor when I am using my money for your services. I don’t mind buying with cash if I have or go to the stores that use cash instead of being addressed like I wanted free electricity. I always buy electricity there with card and no stories being told. What other cashiers do they swipe the debit card before putting electricity on the meter to see if it goes thru and the money goes thru they give you electricity simple and if doesn’t obviously they won’t put in electricity on the meter number. Yesterday Rebecca had to give bad attitude and say unnecessary things just because she has powers with sasol electricity. I am so disappointed because it’s rare to find bad attitude and bad service at petrol stations.
I think you need to start doing something about your staff, reading alot of comments from here already, and I must say I concur with most of them, your staff lack serious customer service, they don't smile, and they always give excuses when you ask for change even to loyal customers that go there every day like myself, I however made a conscious decision to not buy of fillup here, I would rather go to the Sasol up the road closer to Malibongwe due to consistent bad service from your staff members, I think they are tired of doing this job and it shows in how they treat their customers.. I hope something is done because really we can't be complaining about basic customer experience in 2021!!! They need some form of workshop or something, to remind them that they are in the business of customer care... this excludes petrol attendance, they are the most friendliest, wish they could be serving us at the tills instead!
We just got the worst service ever less than 5 mins ago from Paulina or Paulinel didn't read the name properly. From the time we are asking if there is any snack in the store to the minute l ended up asking why she is so angry and seems to respond as if we are messing up her day.We even asked her if we did anything to offend her and she kept giving us an attitude. Guys seriously if you don't love accommodating the public and people who just want to see you happy in exchange for nothing then don't look for jobs please just stay at home with your stinking attitudes!!!!!
Poor service from the attendant. I asked for air and he walked away from me and ran to serve a lady in a merc. Maybe it’s because she was driving a nice Mercedes and I’m driving a regular Toyota ‍.
My husband bought cigarettes at the shop and then we went to the SARS office next door. The parking at SARS was full and we went back to the shop and parked there. We honestly didn't know that we were going to be at SARS that long but when we returned to our car it was clamped due to illegal parking. My husband asked for the manager, and he then apologised and spoke to Portia. She said there is a fine to pay of R400 as per the letter stuck on the car window. My husband admitted again that he parked illegally and apologised but also said that he wasn't prepared to pay R400 as it felt like extortion and that they were being unreasonable. Besides, on closer inspection my husband noticed the wheel mag was scratched where they clamped it. Portia insisted it wasn't them and that's why the cloth was there. Well the cloth is a thin disposable kitchen type blue and white wipe so doesn't offer much protection between two solid metal objects! She asked my husband if he's not prepared to pay the R400, how much will he pay? They eventually agreed on R100 which my husband paid just so we could get out of there. The conversation was between my husband and Portia, and we're still not sure why two of the attendants didn't get their names, but one male and one female also got involved with the discussion that eventually escalated out of control and we felt like we were being ganged up against! To the owner of Sasol Hill Street: we're disappointed that your staff are allowed to speak to civilians in that manner in public. The matter could've been sorted out in private with some understanding and compromise, besides my husband never once indicated that he was innocent. He admitted his fault and apologised. He just didn't feel it was fair to pay R400! However, it's a fact that Sasol Hill Garage received some money to declamp our car wheel although there is no notice that one will be fined for illegal parking, only clamped. Also they had no right to damage our property! We didn't do anything malicious or damage their property! Please expect an insurance claim from us, you extortionists!
