In the process of developing disadvantaged South Africans with the ability of excelling in Triathlon.
South African Triathlon Development (SATD) operates under a Section 21 Company and is a registered NPO-Registration (NPO-Registration number: 048-136NPO). The aim of this development programme is to uplift and support previously disadvantaged athletes as well as athletes with the genetic potential to be world class athletes in either Ironman or Olympic Distance. This is done by ensuring that the athlete has the correct triathlon equipment, training program, coaching, nutrition and living environment to ensure his/her successful participation.
The Development Programme also aims to assist the athletes with the travel and accommodation costs, which in the past would have made it impossible for them to partake in the sport. SATD tries to create opportunities for these athletes that influence all aspects of their lives and inspiring the communities in which they live.
In the long term with the correct talent identification, it is hoped to develop triathletes that can compete on the world stage flying the South African flag.
