We had been to the Silver Birch before and enjoyed it but this time was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble - the staff were excellent at ensuring that we had a suitable table as we brought our baby in a pushchair. The food was all excellent and the portions were great, meaning that we could have 3 courses without it being too much. We also asked for wine recommendations with each course and these were perfect. There were so many wonderful little touches such as the elderflower fizz and snacks at the start and the delicious lovage butter with the bread. The staff were all brilliant too - very knowledgable, professional and friendly. We will definitely be back soon. Kid-friendliness: We took our 6 month old in a pushchair and it was no problem. The perfect table was found which meant that we had space and weren't in anyone's way.
We always walk past The Silver Birch on Chiswick High road and finally got to try it out. We managed to get a reservation with the hot dinners offer and were really impressed with the food. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed and the food was excellent. We started with some fantastic amuse bouche nibbles which was great with their bread made on site. The starters were delicous but the highlight has to be the lamb for main course. Beautifully cooked and extremely tasty. The fish was also nice and dessert was delightful. You can easily see that they will be pushing for a M star very soon. I won't be surprised with the CV that the new chef has!
Easy to find, locate centrally in Chiswick, almost opposite to the pack horse pub. Parking is tricky, make sure you look out for the signs, parking available on one side of the street doesn't mean the same on the other side. Food was average, I had beef tartare, the parmesan cheese over powering the freshness of the rare beef. The cuttlefish was amazing though. The main course was unimpressed, pouisson was under cooked with blood still on the bone, I had monkfish but I didn't like the orange sauce, again too overpowering for the sauce on a plain but tasty fish. Toilet facilities could do with an upgrade if the food charges being so high. Service was attentive. Ambience was a mixed, with a high end eatery, i don't expect to see someone eating with their fingers and wearing jeans. So all in all, a really confusing theme in this place, suggest to go either one way or the other, a fusion of 4 star service, five star prices, three star food anf two star ambience and toilet facility just doesn't work for me. Restaurant experienceis not just about the eating but everything have to work in harmony. Something to take away to think about...sorry...
Probably one of the bests restaurants in Chiswick. It’s on the pricey side, but it’s totally worth it for the quality and service. We’ll be back!Food: 4/5
Really delicious food with great flavours. I find the menu a bit challenging - the dishes don’t necessarily sound that enticing. But the execution is flawless and the food is definitely at the top end of what Chiswick has to offer! We had the tomatoes and scallop to start, followed by the lamb and turbot and, ended with the gooseberry tart. Everything was beautifully presented and the flavours were incredible. The complimentary snacks were also fantastic. Outside seating is lovely too. Just go - you won’t be disappointed!
Excellent, simple and refined menu. Good quality ingredients cooked well and presented with superb friendly and attentive service. Recommended.
We visited the Silver Birch about a year ago, and while it was fine, we weren't that impressed. What a difference a year makes! A new chef and a new menu have elevated this to central London calibre dining but with a local heart. We had a great experience from start to finish. The food was fabulous and we were so well taken care of by the welcoming and knowledgeable team. What a local gem! Highly recommend it.
It was the best dinner I ever had in my life. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we left the restaurant simply astonished. The quality of the food was DIVINE, as well as the service. A big thanks to all the staff that made us feel very pampered through the evening. We hope to come back soon, in the meantime I will recommend the place to every single person I know. Manu & Benni
Each of the front of house staff was without exception welcoming, attentive and efficient without ever once overstepping the mark into intrusion into our enjoyment of superb food. The amuses bouche were quite simply delicious: inventive, beautifully presented and described simply but perfectly .The menu was extremely well designed and presented. The confit duck egg intriguing and delicious; the lamb was cooked to perfection, and the cheese served at perfect temperature and the portion exactly enough to leave room for the exquisite macaroons and the enigmatic and delectable fennel/chocolate fudge. All in all a perfect evening and left me with the intention to return to take the tasting menu as soon as possible.
We loved the food and the service from Dan and his team was brilliant as well! It's fine dining but relaxed. The decor is gorgeous and the social distancing has been as intelligently incorporated into the aesthetic as I have seen anywhere. V much recommend!
