What a lovely experience. We sat outside right by the huge play area. It was a warm day so there were no wet spots. The food was great, the kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly in the play area which had a very nice minder, and the service was Kids had quater chicken meals, we had full chicken schnitzel, 200g sirloin and 300g rump.
This Spur is very large in size so plenty of seating inside and outside. It is Halaal so they serve no Pork or alcohol The play area is very big as well. Food was good as expected from Spur just a little under seasoned, but very tasty with good service. The reason for three star rating is that when going to a Spur you are usually very comfortable knowing that your kids can play in a safe environment and the added benefit of care givers. The inside play area is obscure to your vision from outside so you are constantly uncomfortable thinking that your kids could dissappear out the door on the side. They don't put name tags on the kids arms like all the other Spurs do and at any given point there is only one caregiver in a very big area that does not seem to be very interested.
The food is exquisite. The service is great. The music is very reminiscing. All these aspects that I have mentioned is summarized into this: What a fantastic place. Every now and then I crave this place's food and when I take my first longing bite of this delicious food, I feel a burst of joy. The play area is big enough as well for kids who want to run around and scream joyfully. The service is very commendable and I enjoy the respect from the waiters and waitresses who always great us with a smile. Even though there aren't as muh covid regulations, there is lots of space for people to sit. And what is more is that it is halaal and thus anyone, and I mean ANYONE can eat here! I enjoy your fantastic services spur and I cannot wait to try your breakfasts. Stay strong and stay active just the way you are.
The service and ambience was perfect. Just that they no longer serve pork ribs but that was not a deal breaker. They tag all kids in the play center so it's quite safe for kids to play. Food was amazing. I had spicy beef strips for the first time. Tasty. Kid-friendliness: The kids play area is very secure as the kids get a tag when they enter the play area. They can't leave the restaurant until it is removed Parking: Ample free parking area

By far the best halaal Spur in Johannesburg! The service was impeccable, staff and managers were continuously checking up on our table. Loadshedding occurred but there were generators. Extremely kid friendly with large outdoor area and play ground. No alcohol served on premises which was delightful and ensured a vibrant and peaceful environment. Many in house specials in the menu and food took less than 20 minutes to arrive. Fresh water with ice and lemon was served as a compliment. Many birthday parties took place during the day. Restaurant may get too noisy at peak times due to how full and vibrant it gets. Very clean and had friendly staff! A new vegetarian and vegan menu as well. Yet to try it! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available on the menu which is a delight! From soya burgers to vegan schnitzel and salads. Very inviting
Spur is a national institution and I'm certain that most of us have great memories of the experience as children. What they do, they do well, I just don't think that breakfast is it. Sure, offering and creating a breakfast menu is fairly simple but if the execution thereof is merely perfunctory, should it still be offered, when other smaller food businesses do it better? I'm not in the habit of musing on the economic and marketing advantages in the food industry, so I'll just leave it there. The menu is short and ahem, interesting. I suppose there are people that would enjoy onion rings for brekkies. I chose it because, well, I like taking risks with food sometimes. Anyway, service was good, food was cooked well apart from the hash brown which needed a few more minutes on the grill or in the fryer.
Took my niece out for her birthday breakfast, only to find that our spur is now halaal and we won't be having bacon anymore. The staff is wonderful as always but we definitely going to non halaal spurs because we love our bacon and pork ribs. This has been a spur tradition meal that we all love and for it to be taken away is just too sad for us loyal customers . For 15 years i have been supporting this spur and it has been my kids favorite until new management took over.
Beautiful play area and good food. However, there needs to be more than 1 person supervising the kids, especially when it's busy like on Saturday ehen i went, and the person needs to be more active, aware and child-friendly. The shading needs to be improved as well as it's super hot, I would also like to see more bins around especially in the party area. Also a kid I happened to know just walked out of the restaurant unattended as I was walking in and nobody noticed at all. Luckily i knew him so i called him and led him back inside
We booked a birthday party for my 7 year old at Spur Wild Falcon.The kids had a fantastic time at the play area outside. The food was great. Our waiter Life was excellent. He advised on appropriate times to get the kids to eat and service was quick and efficient. Thank you for hosting our special day and making it so special and memorable.
