A very charming book store. It has a broad range of books, friendly staff and fairy-tale like atmosphere. I love sitting and enjoying the read or getting some work done in the café upstairs

What a stunning, hidden Gem inside of Montecasino. I've been living here for so many years, and only discovered it now, because someone booked me to play the Beáutiful Grand Piano inside Skoobs for a Book Launch.  Coffee Shop, gorgeous Cakes plús Champagne bar upstairs next to the Piano.  Heaven indeed!

What a wonderful and charming place .. The atmosphere lends itself to easy and tranquil conversations and you can also browse through some books as you sip away on the delicious beverages available..

Great book store. Nice vibe with lots of nooks and crannies.

The book selection is limited and generally overpriced, but the atmosphere is nice and sometimes they will have a musician playing that further improves the atmosphere. There some good books and very occasionally some more obscure ones but usually only the most popular stuff is available and often only a few entries - often not from the beginning - of a series will be in stock which is a pet peeve of mine. Otherwise, the staff are friendly and the environment is quiet and peaceful, appropriate for a bookstore. The added cafe and bar are a tad gratuitous, though.  In summary, worth a look around and maybe a book purchase with a sit-down for coffee with a friend, but Skoobs should not be your go-to bookstore. Estoril Books at Fourways Mall would be my recommendation for a store with a superior selection, still in the area, or Bargain Books at Fourways Crossing for better pricing.

Good selection of books at reasonable prices. Some rare prints/editions are found in this store, so it's good to pop in every now and then. In-store coffee is excellent, champagne bar not too bad either. Great way to spend an hour or two @ Monte

Double O rocks: fOOd, bOOks, lOOKs. You won't be disappointed.

Best bookstore in town, their book launches are always interesting.

I didn't know about Skoobs until I attended a book launch there this past weekend 31 January 2016. The event itself was great. But I also found the bookshop so interesting! Lots of books, obviously. But they had a huge variety and don't stint on SA titles, which is what a lot of local bookshops do and yes, I get it. The internationals sell better.  On this Sunday there were lots people browsing/buying/hanging out. Aside from the book launch crowd I mean. The place has lots of seating. Coffee. A cash bar upstairs oh yes!. Excellent service from staff. If I lived nearby, I'd definitely spend some of my writing days there. Really. Check it out.

I absolutely love this bookstore. It promotes reading culture among children in a fun way.  There's all varieties of books including a coffee shop and a restaurant upstairs.  It's always very busy in bustling Monte Casino.
