SMITH was founded in 2014 by Candace Marshall-Smith and Amy Ellenbogen and is situated at 56 Church Street in the heart of cultural Cape Town. The 230 year old building has been tenderly brought back to life in the form of a Fine Art gallery. The studio has identified with a group of young contemporary South African artists whom it will profile and showcase over a period of time. SMITH is passionate about an environment that deepens the relationship between artists and collectors.
