We had a late transatlantic flight and needed a good meal to prepare us for a 14 hour flight. This was a great choice. Even though it was very crowded, we were greeted and were able to order quickly. The draft beer choices were good, and the food was excellent. We had a perfectly cooked New York strip, served with a baked potato and onion rings, as well as a Greek salad and a malva pudding to top things off. It was a great meal, a good choice for our last one in South Africa before heading home.
I went to Spur before my flight. I ordered the Texan chicken burger. As always it was super delicious. The sauce is really nice with the Texan burger. The onion rings were nice and crispy but not overly crispy. The meals are always filling and nice and freshly made. I also ordered the lime milkshake. I like the mini marshmallows on top. The service was good and the place was nice and clean
Let me start by saying on the day they where very under staffed, i had to get up from the table after 20 minutes of waiting and go ask for service, once i asked i was very politely greeted and accommodated, but had to do this 3 times, no waiter ever checked in with me, every order i had, i got up and walked to them and placed it. At no point was any off the waiters rude and when i talked to them they where always helpful and friendly. Bit the main point is i was never checked on. The food I ordered 200g fillet medium rare on a skillet was perfectly prepared and absolutely no complaints on that, really 10/10 for flavor and presentation. Only thing i ask is when i am ever back again, make sure im checked upon, I understand its hard to always have full staff compliment, but yet it should not affect me or anyone else.
Great food, served nice and fresh. Waiter was friendly and catered for our requests. Available space to leave bags so you can grab a snack while waiting for your flight. Unlike other spurs, you don’t wait long for your food here
Saturday 21st :If i could give zero stars i would , our waiter seemed annoyed we had to sit at a dirty table and wait for the waiter to clean it , we waited 40 min for 2burgers which wasn’t the problem ,the problem was that our food was cold , the waiter took it back to the kitchen when we got it back it looked like the onions were deep fried again it went from golden brown to black , my partner decided to just eat it cause the server seemed frustrated we decided to order a waffle to make up for the disappointing service the kitkat waffle was so hard we found it difficult to cut the “melted” kitkat choc looked like poo ! Only nice thing was the ice cream ,while we were eating the other waiters starts sweeping so there was dust everywhere
Loved eating while watching planes outside through the windowawesome experience indeed. Customer service was excellent as well.
Decent food. But no regard of time. Extremely bad attitude and disregard for the customer. 25mins for 2 coke and a milkshake, forgot to make one persons order. Terrible!!!
I definitely did not have a great experience here at all, the food wasn't plesant at all. It was a first time going Spur with my Son and not getting any lettuce nor tomato on his burger without any notification. I order the Apache combo but my pork chop was raw. There aren't any bathrooms inside the Spur but it's called a Family restaurant travelling with a 6yr old was very unpleasant to be at this place had to leave the restaurant to get my Son at a bathroom leaving my food unattended. Wouldn't recommend it at all
On the morning of Friday 9th of December a group of about 20 of us gathered at Spur awaiting the departure of my son and his his family. With all the family and ordering of breakfast and checking in , he forgot to take a tube of gifted visual art pieces with him which was on floor next to him. Today a week and a half later we've decided to drive to the airport and just see if there was any way we could find the art. The first person we asked went and checked and after a few minutes came back with the tube in her hands. It was just such a joyous moment for us. Thank you Soaring Hawk Spur for your awesomeness
Nice to sit and watch the runway while waiting for boarding time and they do have a smoking area. Restaurant is clean. Food is good, but in my last couple of visits don't expect quick service.
