I really wanted to like this hotel and give it a higher rating. Among the good things about it: - Very nice room design. - Huge, comfortable and modern bathroom with a dedicated shower. - Nice restaurant. - Great staff no complaints about anyone whatsoever. - Great location: it is within walking distance to everything we wanted to see, is close to no less than four subway stations and the British Museum. The last point is also a huge drawback. While its location is convenient in terms of distance, the entire block around it consists of dirty, garbage-strewn and graffiti-laden narrow streets that house almost exclusively bars and restaurants. In the evening, on all four nights we were there, this area turns into a wild zoo, with packed, overflowing crowds next to many bars shouting into each other's ears in a futile attempt to have a conversation, while drinking alcohol outside. Don't get me wrong, we never felt unsafe - but it is such an unpleasant area to come to, that we dreaded going back to the hotel every evening after exploring the city. The second big problem is water-related. We were there on relatively hot days ~29C, and the only water provided were two tiny 330mL bottles with turn down service. When I asked the concierge whether tap water is drinkable because we don't have enough, the answer I got was basically this: "We provide two bottles with the turn down service, and if you need more, you can purchase two more from the mini bar in the suite". Now, I don't know about you, but after paying 800 euros a night in a 5-star hotel, I expect something as basic and vital as water to be free in any reasonable amount that I need. The answer I got about purchasing more overpriced water is simply insulting. The correct answer should have been: "How many bottles do you need? We'll get them to you shortly." Because of these two issues, we likely won't be coming back.
Went for film club. So good. Food delightful, film was on a massive screen and the seat were super comfy. The popcorn was not great. And drinks you had to go upstairs for. They would have made money money if they took an order from you...Service: 5/5
Amazing hotel at a great location in London. Stayed there with family to explore the city and every element of the hotel was excellent. Service was great. Every member of the staff, from the doormen to reception concierge and the whole restaurant team was amazing, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was outstanding, with a balance of healthy and hearty. Hotel also had some small touches for the kids, like a coloring book upon arrival and milk and delicious cookies every night. Walkability: Great location, right at the heart of Soho, 5 min to Chinatown, 10 min to most Theaters and museums. Hotel is a bit at the end of an alley looks unusual at first but turns out to be great as it brings some silence and peace away from a busy road. Also easy to get taxis and short walk to closest tube station.
Wow what a place to stay. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing. Check in was quick and simple. The concierge was so attentive and took us to our room. He ran through all the amenities and showed us around the room, he also ran through the services the hotel has to offer, gym, cinema etc. The room was incredible, the bed so comfortable, the bathroom was also amazing, a roll top bath with TV, an amazing shower with various settings. We had dinner in the restaurant, it was busy and the staff very accommodating. The food was delicious and very filling. The staff are attentive but not intrusive, it was also great to just talk to them as they made you feel very relaxed. No request or adjustment to your meal was a problem and they ask if you if you have any dietary requirements or allergies. Breakfast was very filling and a choice for all. I can't fault the staff at all and the concierge certainly knows their stuff, able to guide, make bookings and recommendations. The hotel is situated in the heart of Soho so close to all the sites. We will be back.
Wow, I was very impressed with this place. I came here for a workshop, and I was floored by the service and decadence. It is a very short walk from the Tottenham Court Road Elizabeth Line entrance. Upon entering, I was greeted by the doorman, and swiftly directed to where I need to go. Entered the room which was spotlessly clean and modern looking with art pieces on the wall. The food that was served were amazing. For breakfast, they had finger sandwiches each with sausage, bacon, a selection of fruit, cookies etc. There was a big party next door, but the sound isolation between rooms was so good, that I would never have guessed until that function ended, and lots of tall pretty people walked out from the darkness with music coming from the door. Toilets were also extremely clean! All in all, I was impressed, and hope I get to attend more functions here!.
Great stay. Always love coming back to the Soho. The the detail and unique decor in each room, gives the hotel such a distinct character. Kit Kemp does an amazing job
Beautiful rooms and great location if you like soho. Staff is great but the reception need to be more down to earthRooms: 5/5
I didn't stay at the Soho Hotel but I'm writing a review to say that the staff here are absolutely incredible! In short, I had my purse stolen from a nearby restaurant the night before, and after the robbers took what they needed, they dumped the rest of the contents including the bag itself behind the alleyway of the hotel. One of the staff named Michael there not only found it but also insisted that they google my name to see if they could contact me about it. Thanks to his and Anne-Cecile's who emailed me help and thoughtfulness, I was able to get back a lot of valuable items. And then when I arrived, everyone was so nice and friendly - I would not hesitate to stay here if you are ever in this part of London. Thanks again Michael and Anne-Cecile!
The main jewel in this crown was Clive, very great service from him and all staff. The decor is super, and the room that we recieved Deluxe was superb, nothing to add as a negative, clean, the bed was amazing also. A few things I would say from a guests point of view are would be nice to have a bottle of water on arriving at room, we had to spend £8 on minibar on 2 bottles of water, even though 2 were provided in the room later for free. No tea making facilities in rooms, but not too much issue of us but maybe for some. We booked room including breakfast, this allows £60 spend for 2, when presented with the menu, each item is itemised £5 for orange, £5 toast etc and full english is missing beans, extra so for our £60 we had a fairly skimpy breakfast which was nice, but the eggs were not as to what we asked at all. The next day we had afternoon tea which was nice, and staff again were very nice. Although the slight comment on breakfast, its still a great place and obviously harbouring a good load of quality staff.
I didn't stay here. Just food and an event. Been a few times and you are always treated like royalty. Very friendly, colourful, vibrant central hotel.Rooms: 5/5
