An elegant, serene and stylish dining establishment where the locals choose to meet, or just enjoy their morning paper together with their favorite brew of coffee, and maybe a decadent treat from the menu.
I had very good experience at Sostanza; our waiter, Lucas, was friendly, knowledgeable about the different bread types and very polite. The breakfast was generous and filling - My girlfriend couldn't finish her salmon and avocado omelette even though it was so good. I never had beer as we were having breakfast but they have a good selection of Craft Beers, wines and spirits. Overall it's a nice chilled place.
Recently visited Lakeside and were told about Sostanza by the owners of the house we stayed at. Got to say that the food and the atmosphere were really bang on. We had dinner one evening and the following day we called in for brunch. On both occasions the food was excellent but the best thing about it was the staff. Everybody who waited on us were polite, courteous and friendly and were a credit to the restaurant. Well done to everyone and thanks for a great experience.
Great restaurant with a lovely kids area. The area was not full. It was airy and while there weren't a lot of toys,my kids had a great time. The high chair came in useful as well. The pancake was great, but the cheese, ham and tomatoes toasted sandwich weirdly came in 4 pieces of ciabatta. I enjoyed it and we'll be back again
Was nice and friendly, coffee is good. Breakfast was very nice and the service was nice
After a bad experience a few months ago, my wife and I decided to pop in for breakfast on Sunday 16 Sept. The service by the very attentive young man who took care of us was a vreath of fresh air. The meal was enjoyable particularly because, as a vegetarian, I was able to create my own meal. Well done.
A beautiful spot to rest, lots of indoor greenery and lights. The place is almost separate from the rest of the world. I've only been here about 5 times throughout the years and it's changed drastically. Perfect for a quick bite or even a nice big meal. Only problem is they ask R40 for a toasted cheese..... nothing fancy about it just the typical ingredients of a cheese sandwich but a really expensive one. Other than that it's very pleasant
