South Beach Garden Court

Garden Court South looks good from outside. The dinner area is nice and big. Reception is friendly. I was double booked and walked in on a husband and wife in the room. Luckily they were very friendly. Reception sorted it out quickly. My room was clean but the furniture in the rooms are old and very outdated. You sleep under a blanket and not a duvet as in other hotels. The breakfast was very average. I did not like the area. The Spur is situated next to the hotel so you do not have to go out at night for dinner which is nice. The parking area is under the hotel and there is a guard on duty. For the money I think I will shop around before staying there again.

The rooms are clean and kept clean.But it couldn't hurt them to change or upgrade and put new our days appliances.The toilet..taps kettle all old or old school.The hotel of that status is suppose to have all in things in my opinion.Maybe its the floor i was at.Hear me right the hotel and stuff are all great. Rooms: Okay....very clean. Safety: Satisfied Walkability: To almost everywhere Food & drinks: Perfect...kitchen stuff friendly...that que for omellet and they kept on going...bravoo to them.

The location is very nice on the beach. The area is a whole behind the hotel is a little disappointing and looks scary at night. Breakfast is great Cleaning is orite but very late after 2. The rooms are little out dated but still okay. Overall we had a good stay.Rooms: 3/5

We enjoyed our stay here but the bed is very old, instead of waking up feeling fresh, you wake up with back pains, we saw the mattress without sheets, very disgusting . The curtains smell awful, I don’t think they’ve ever been washed, the carpet smells horrible.They put a “hotel menu” in the rooms but they don’t serve any of the meals, when you call, they tell you to order at spur. Their breakfast was nice and the staff is very friendly . It’s a nice hotel with a great view of the sea, they just need improvements. They must increase their budget for proper cleaning and maintenance.

I have a lot to say about kitchen staff but for now I will say they can be more cleanerRooms: 2/5

Nothing stood out. Furniture needs to be updated. At check in, switching on the tv the tv had an internal crack that should have been checked before we checked in. However they replaced it without wasting time. Room service is terrible. Had to call and walk to reception to bring in someone to clean my room. Cleaning ladies are not efficient. Food is bland. The guy making the omelettes could add extra effort. However was assisted by one black lady at reception very helpful. There was one other black lady at reception though, she was not very friendly and lacked customer service. Rooms: Nothing stood out. Furniture needs to be updated. Located at beach front...so great view from the top. The room is clean, but the downside is that they allow smoking. Very disappointed when going down for breakfast and was told I could not eat in the restaurant and they would bring the food to my room. Tried to reason with the waiter, but he was a bit rude. Didn't want to prolong the argument, so I left for my room. Also was warned not to go out at night. Rooms: cĺean and comfortable Nearby activities: Surfing, swimming and beach strolling Safety: Not so safe at night Walkability: Walking distance to Malls and restaurants Food & drinks: Great choices for big eater

Their food was tasteless and the scones they served with tea had too much bicarbonate of soda, I could taste it, I couldn't swallow. I sure hope it was a 1 time flop because I don't wish that experience for anyone else. The view from the rooms facing the sea is breath taking! The carpet should go though, it's not vacuumed every day, the breakfast was nice, although the last day i saw one of the kitchen staff pick a sausage from the table top and put it back into the chaffing dish, in my full view, i was shocked!Location: 5/5
