St Ives Restaurant and Accommodation Estate

We visited a lovely venue with a stunning setting on the shores of a lake. The vibe was very tranquil and calming, with the sound of birdsong and the gentle lapping of waves against the shore. The venue had a beautiful reception area overlooking the lake, with a deck that was perfect for taking in the views. There was also a restaurant on the property, but we didn't go there because we had already eaten lunch before we arrived.

I stayed here in September of 2022 which was great so I decided to stay here again and it was a horrible experience. If you are not familiar with load shedding then you’re out of luck. They don’t tell the the schedules of the load shedding the rooms are pitch black you cannot see anything. They say that they have rechargeable bulbs but it never comes on. Wifi is non existent so we went to reception because we were told it’s good there but there was little to no connection. Shower is hot but then gets cold and hot again. Everyday there was something not working. The owner Wesley is pleasant but David is amazing and is always there when you need him. The receptionist is very rude and obnoxious. She should be trained or fired whichever one comes first. Zebras and animals were beautiful

We loved our short stay at St Ives. We stayed in Silo 1 and it was clean, well laid out with a huge, spacious main bedroom. Fresh milk left in the fridge and wood for a fire added a lovely personal touch. The view was stunning with buck, zebra and wilde beast wandering around in front and horses and donkeys in the paddocks to the side. Our friends enjoyed fishing in the dam and we had a lovely time. Lovely accommodating staff. Conveniently across the road from Piggly Wiggly. Would definitely go for longer next time. The photos don’t really do it justice but to give u an idea…

It was a great wedding venue. But as a place to stay it was poor. Our shower sprayed water everywhere, others water would never get hot. Others had power tripping issues. Dome rooms had blankets others didn't. Still overall a good wedding venue, just wouldn't recommend staying there.

Beautiful views and great service from Palesa , David and team . A slight difficulty getting to the pool and lake area for the older folks.Rooms: 4/5

Lovely views, trails and wildlife but could improve on the heating inside the rooms during cold the months. Some electric blankets and heating in the bathrooms..it really gets cold.. They also forgot to clean our room on the last day, because they suddenly got busy, eventhough the place was pretty much empty the whole week....Rooms: 3/5

Beautiful grounds with antelope and zebra. Lovely walks around the dam and more for the adventurous in the forests. The suites are large and comfortable. Little WiFi but who needs WiFi when you getting away.

Wonderfully located in the KZN Midlands near Howick. Excellent facility for functions along the R103 Midlands meander. Well maintained facilities and beautiful surrounds!

Sorry, we visited about 3 or 4 years ago. Then it was winter and it was beautiful!! The layout of the property is stunning, with a pond and a lake, with free roaming animals,birds, frogs and happy little rabbits! Beautiful lawns, trees and flowers. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a feeling of warmth. The breakfast is enormous..... Dinner was excellent.... A perfect venue for a wedding or for a relaxing getaway!! And it's part of the beautiful Midland Meander and over the road from the ever popular Piggly Wiggly!! Go and spoil yourself!!!
