A really beautiful gem in Edenvale!

Beautiful church. Both of my grandparents are in the garden, so I often pay visits to the church, it is usually very quite and peaceful. Very well maintained.

I have recently had the most horrific experience with St Theresa's church. My father sadly passed away last week. The worst day of my families life. Following arrangement with the Church, his funeral was scheduled for the 8th July. I was liaising with Elizabeth Vaglietti, the church secretary. The day prior I gave her a call to clarify whether we could stream the service due to Covid and whether we could show a slide show of pictures. That particular day Elizabeth had no WIFI and was extremely irate. She explained that I was not permitted to use the projector as the church has no money and would not have my people break the equipment. When I asked whether we could arrange our own equipment, she went on to state that I am not a Catholic and that my fathers funeral is cancelled. Then hung up. My brother-in-law called Elizabeth, and regrettably that conversation escalated to an argument. She then called me back and started accusing us of threatening her and to reiterate that my Dads funeral is cancelled - all due to my request to screen pictures of my Dad. I know the discussion I had with her was not threatening, I cannot comment on other verbal exchanges. However, it is sick that a person can decide on behalf of a church to cancel someone's funeral. I went to school at a convent and have always been part of the Church. It is with a very heavy heart that after this I am somewhat embarrassed at the behavior of some Catholics. I pray that no one has to experience what my family has been through and I pray that the Church can continue it's good work despite unfortunate occurrences like the above.
