Our method of clinical assessment is based on the “Fico Concept” that was developed by the two partners of Steenkamp Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc. and is defined as:
F- Functionality
Making sure the product is doing what it was prescribed for according to the Dr's referral and evaluation made.
I- Independance
Checking if the patient can function independently with the product while mobilizing and can independently put the brace on.
C- Comfort
Asking if the patient is comfortable while using the product as well as with the process of putting it on independently.
O- Outcome
Making sure that the rehabilitation goals have been met and that the patient feels they have had a positive experience.
