Sterkinekor Irene

Went to the movies on a Friday afternoon. They helped me to book a film, on the self-help machine. Good service. Few people shared the experience of the big screen and wonderful sound.

Good service a majority of the time, but ster kinekor does nothing to combat the rapidly growing issue of noise and loud talking in any of their theaters, people talk over the movies and nothing is done

While the movie was excellent, the service was ridiculous at Irene Mall. Would have helped if there was staff of signs informing people that you cannot buy popcorn at counters and must pre-order. Apart from no signs, there were only two active staff and very long cues. We stood in those long cues with no popcorn at the end of the day after being corrected. Aircon in the theater was also not working.

I meant to take my son to the toilets . There were 3 girls working there. They were seated outside and I told them my son needs a toilet. They responded by saying the toilet is out of order and leaking. I could see they were lying. I insisted to go in and see and take pictures. I walked in and all the toilets were perfectly fine. Not cool to have a lying bunch of staff. Lying is not cool

Ster-kinekor made the worst woke decision. They switched from a cardboard to a brown paper bag as a popcorn container. This ruin the experience with the constant noise of the people grabbing popcorn out of the crackling bag. I will have to join the high seas and watch at home in peace on a smaller screen

Website says generators are available on site this is not true and upon arrival of my movie ticket time slot I get told to come back 2 hours later because there is no electricity. This is totally unprofessional and misleading of this branch.

Great facility. Just a pity that I didn't know that you had to order refreshments before the time and couldn't pay at the counter, after standing in a queue. Probably because I hadn't been to a movie in a while. However, no one to assist in confirming this as purchasing tickets is now automated. It would be beneficial if some staff member is available to confirm this process.

After sitting through 20 odd minutes of trailers and adverts, the movie finally starts, I had to get up and ask the staff to turn off the lights, then less than an hour into the movie it gets some error and switches off. Besides that, getting 2 packs of popcorn and 2 drinks took over 10minutes since the staff couldn’t find ice. With that said, staff are standing outside hanging out. Seriously an amateur cinema. Wouldn't put money towards this place again.

I still can’t get over the prices but the experience was good.

Except from forgetting to turn the lights off when the movie started, and air conditioning/circulation on during the movie, it was clean. Not much staff to help with bookings.
