A terrible experience unfortunately, a great bedside manner in the beginning but not a great surgeon. No proper pain management after surgery apparently Mypaid was enough for a breast reconstruction and lift. I eventually had to ask my GP for Voltaren suppository’s because of my immense pain. Terrible keloid scars were left, it looks like I have been butchered. Dr Strydom never once explained to me how to look after my keloid scars or informed me about the cortisol creams available or light therapy etc which my GP has helped me with now, almost 9 months after my surgery because I am still experiencing pain. I expressed that I was not happy with my operation in a very calm and kind manner and his approach back to me was aggressive, defensive and he did not show any sympathy. His response to me was to go over the “list of proof”, the topics we had discussed in our first few sessions, to prove to me that he was not liable. He expressed to me before my surgery if I was not happy with anything I could have a second surgery, all I would need to pay was the hospital fees, which would not be too much as it would be a quick, short day surgery. After my surgery this changed and he wanted to charge me another R46000. After I had already paid almost R82000. My breast lift has still left me with lots of loose skin on my one breast and I did not receive the size and shape I wanted. I have seen other surgeons since and they have expressed that a larger implant could of helped with the extra loose skin or more skin could of been removed to solve this problem. I would rather recommend going to a surgeon who is well known for breast reconstructions & lifts. One thing I can say is that his secretary is lovely and very helpful.
