Great service, specifically from Mishack forgive me for misspelling his name. The service was quick and easy, and he helped solve my problem with friendliness.
They have much lower rental fees than compared to other car rental companies. Their service is exceptional. I once came to collect a car with an expired license card and forgot the valid one at home. Nthabiseng, the lady who was helping me offered that I could come back the next day, even though it was a holiday. She came in just for me and another client, then they closed up after they had assisted us. They have great compassion and excellent customer service.
Took a while to get a car 1 hour-ish since we needed two, but they were very friendly and also with handing in we had no problems. Would always be cheaper to order online since we did pay a higher amount than usual but we had no problems with them whatsover!
This has been one of my worst car hire experiences. Firstly, there were only two of us, with 2 front office staff. It took 28 minutes to get the vehicle. On returning the car after waiting for about 20 min on the queue, I was instructed to drive to the basement. Another plus 15 min of waiting since there were 2 other vehicles ahead. I only got my refund after 8 days, and 30 days later am still literally "begging" for an invoice/receipt. I can see from my credit card extra charges.
On my booking the system allowed collection at 7am but office hours start 8am. So waited outside in the cold for 30min although some employees were already inside. If system had said 8am I would have planned accordingly
Picking up the vehicle was a poor experience. There was 1 person responsible for vehicle collection, answering calls and doing bookings. The staff were inefficient as I was brought the wrong vehicle and nobody could find a suitable car for me, resulting in a vehicle being borrowed from Europcar after a 35 minute wait.
Worst service ever, the tellers are ignorant, they just sit there and look at you on the queue and you have to ask if they are open for you to book a car. At some point they Just all leave the counter and there is no one to service clients for a good 1 hour minutes.
More than pathetic service. With my wife we hired a vehicle in Durban on Friday the 7th April and returned it on Monday the 10th in Pretoria. I explicitly asked for a a properly air-conditioned vehicle as we had to drive all the way up to Gauteng. The Ford Figo, we received had a very weak air conditioning, which stopped cooling after three hours, while we were still in Umhlanga. Attempted to return the car but Durban facility was already closed. On receiving, the car did not have any major dents, apart from some minor ones duly noted on the form together with the agent of Tempest car. We did not check the glass screens of the windows of the vehicle. After suffering tremendously for 6 - 7 hours drive from Umhlanga to Pretoria without air-conditioning, we filled the car with petrol and took it back to the Tempest offices on Monday morning. There, after admitting that the car was in impeccable condition as regards its paint work, we were shown a small crack at the top of the front glass screen exactly behind the front mirror, so that one could not see it from inside the car and we were asked whether this was there, when we received the car. We said that we did not notice anything happening during the trip, apart from their breach of contract regarding the air conditioning. We had to sign a paper that we delivered the car in the same condition as we received it. We did not want to make a major issue about the air conditioning, despite the insolent answer of their agent: "what did you expect; this was not a Mercedes Benz" and the obvious breach of contract by Tempest. After we left we did not have any further communication from Tempest except from the fact that they did not return our deposit of R3000-00! Checking on our bank statements, we noticed that on the 15th of April they additionally took from our Credit Card another amount of R766-00! This they did, in addition to the legitimate rental amount of R1294-00 taken already on the 10 of April! All of the above transactions were done without anybody from Tempest letting us know of the reason and without any further justification! We have complained to the Standard Bank and asked for reinstatement of the amounts taken without our consent and without any justification from our credit card account and are currently waiting for a resolution of the issue, as the Bank intends to take up the matter with Tempest. If one puts the figures together, we have paid over R5 000-00, instead of the legitimate R1294-00 supposedly agreed with Tempest! That happened without them stating any damage and not communicating with us whatsoever! We also consider talking to our attorney about the matter!
Big deal about a small scratch on the bumper. When delivering, they checked the car and my son not.
