Hertz Rent a Car South Africa

There is VERY rude lady by the name of Virginia at the Hatfield branch. Please work on training. We called yesterday to advise her of a issue we had with a rental vehicle, after putting us on hold for over 15min ,the call cut and she never called us back, when we called back and asked why she didn’t return the call ,she advised she didn’t have the number . Should the number not be on the booking ? She was arrogant and when asked for her name she said she gave it at the beginning of the call and just like I don’t have her name ,she doesn’t have my number. She then put the phone down in my ear whilst I was still speaking and upon calling back she didn’t answer.

Needed to rent a car for an emergency just before they closed and the person inspecting the car had missed a small scratch because it was dark. It wasn't even the first time they missed a scratch on a car they rented out to me. This time upon return, I was told that I've lost all my deposit of R5650 for the scratch as the whole bumper has to be replaced. Please see images of the scratch attached. Hertz Hatfield is a scam.

Affordable rental . PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE , Always take your own Photos and Video of the Car on pick up , be sure to get a nice slow pass over the entire car with extra focus on things like Side Skirts and bumpers. This has saved me many a nightmare whith many Car rental services.

If useless was a branch, it would be Hertz Pretoria. We phoned over 10 times, and whoever is meant to pick up the phone simply picked it up and put it down. Would recommend that you appoint someone who is competent in basic skills. This place is a joke, they might as well just close the branch……

Very good service. Only problem is they keep the R14500 for up to 7 days. The ladies are friendly and they are quick. Just had to wait for them to connect to the bank to authorize return my deposit in 7 days. The other car companies ask a much smaller deposit and pay it back much quicker.

An absolute pleasure renting a car from them. Very friendly and efficient staff.
