The Barefoot Cafe

Description

History

This little establishment opened its doors all the way back in March 2010. It was started by two lazy local surfer boys who both had a long history of outstanding service and bravery in the field of hospitality and figured this place was only a natural evolution.... Or alternatively needed to figure out ways to keep their mornings free for hangovers and/or surfs. Either way they are very happy with the end-result and hope you come to share their enthusiasm in this institution.

VISION

Our vision was to create a laid back place where all are welcome and all sorts of people can just come in, get together and kick back and let their hair down! We encourage the widest range of possible customers from different age groups, social classes, ethnicities, religions etc etc... You get the picture. So all of you here are either on holiday or living in paradise we ask that you kick back, relax and always talk to the person next to you!

FOOD

We are like proud parents when it comes to our food. We take a lot of care to make sure the ingredients used are as fresh and as close to the route source as possible. This means home made pizza bases and burger patties, not frozen bull***. Getting as much produce from local producers as possible, this tastes better and is better for our environment. We cook our food from scratch and we try and do it well, ie No "just warm it up in the microwave!" So if your food is taking a little longer that accustomed to, please note that it is not because we are lazy surfers, but rather because we will not slack off on our standard when busy.

There aren't a lot of restaurant options in Chintsa, so it's great that at least one of them -- The Barefoot Cafe -- is fabulous.  First of all, the décor is cheery and bright, with surfboards on the walls. The staff are cheerful and know their menu; always nice. We had both the pizza and the fish and calamari with chips and salad. Actually, we tried several pizzas. Everything was fresh, tasty, satisfyingly spiced, and good portions. Especially nice was the price; perfect for backpackers and for us.
Great food, great ambiance proper and great service.
Really great little cafe, very comfy and well decorated. Lovely vibes and very friendly, accomodating staff. Food was outstanding.
Amazing service! Super fun staff! They are all barefoot!! Good specials depending on the day you go and great food. Pizza was amazing
Food was Devine service excellent staff was very friendly and helpful
Nice place. I ate the fish and calamari with chips and salad and it was a nice portion and tastes very good. The pizza I tried from my friends was also very delicious. I like the interior design. They also offer nice specials like happy hours, for example shooters day, with extra cheap shooters. It's only a walk away from the beach, so it's nice to eat there after or during a beach day.
Super Good food, with amazingly friendly bar tender/waiter attending us Apologies for forgetting your name. We thought it was a nice touch for the chef to personally come offer us alternatives when they ran out of calamari. Definitely a local hangout but worth a stop for excellent food and drinks in a laid back ambiance.
A unique local restaurant/bar In Chintsa East village. This is a casual place with great meal options or if you just want a coffee or beer. The restaurant and bar setup allows for seated dining or if you just want a few drinks go sit at the bar. They have a friendly, relaxing atmosphere so you are bound to strike a conversation with locals and visitors alike. Quirky decor and art add to the charm.
Had some good Pizzas and their own craft beer. My son loved it but it reminded me of wet dog. Overall very friendly staff and good food. Worth relaxing here.
Missing a choice of light meals, but great pizza and crispy chips
