Our Cape Wheel is a giant observation wheel that offers a spectacular 360° panoramic view of Cape Town from the iconic and vibrant V&A Waterfront precinct.

Description

Your viewing experience across the Mother City includes Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape Town City skyline, Paarl Mountains, and the Cape Town Stadium. The Cape Wheel offers 30 fully enclosed air conditioned cabins that will take you 40 metres above the ground in safety and comfort on the 12 - 15 minute, 4 revolution ride. The wheel also offers two wheelchair friendly and accessible cabins.

If you ever want to experience a completely awesome "touristy" thing. This is for you. The first time we went there, there was loadshedding so we could not purchase our tickets but the lady was super nice. We went in the evening at around 6pm. It was packed but the lines went quickly and we enjoyed ourselves. Loved being able to take pictures of the sunset and Table Mountain. Up to 8 can use the gondola and it's clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
My grandchildren and I had an awesome 12 minute ride on The Cape Wheel. Especially the youngest one who is 2 1/2 years old. It was her first time. She was in awe of the scenery and how far below small cars and people were. She was fascinated with the BIG ships on the sea lol!! A great experience for us all. Thank you. ps Please change the location on Google maps. It took us to the old venue!!

Breath taking views. Would recommend it 100%. It caters for everyone, young and old..
The wait to get on the wheel was less than 15 minutes after paying for a ticket. In the meantime, the photographer takes photos while waiting. The photos are optional and comes with additional fees. The sitting compartments are cleaned after each use, this is very important given the pandemic. The wheel gives a good view of the port, central business district and the table mountians. The ride was up to 20 minutes and was enjoyable.
The new site it has moved to is much prettier than the previous site. Nice ocean and Mountain View. Still a bit pricy though.
