To be honest one of the poorest experiences I had at Cape Town restaurants which is ironic since my name is Mitchell. The ribs I got were basically all bone, fat, and cartilage/tissue. They forgot the peas in one of my moms dishes where peas were one of the most important aspects to it, the service a bit slow and machine to pay was acting up…etc. but the vibes and decorations and space are great. Oh and the milkshake I got was one of the best I’ve ever had. So it has promise. If your in a pinch or really leaning towards it, don’t let my review stop you, give it a shot!
I wanted to like this place more, due to my name, but I would rate it just ok. Bangors plentiful but salty and they forgot the peas with the mash. Seating not comfortable especially next to overly bright display case. Not enough enthusiasm about their beers. Ruben sandwich is tiny. The ribs were good. The place is just missing something. Upstairs is interesting, like a soulless food hall. Friendly service but just missing some spark.
Surprisingly good food for a pub atmosphere. We tried the seafood, burger and asic chicken wings. The staff were accommodating of special requests, polite and the overall experience was excellent. Recommend for food, drink and general atmosphere!
Wonderful pub atmosphere, with genuinely the nicest burgers I've had in a long time. Very tasty and not drowning in sauce. My only gripe, no Guinness on tap, although advertised as such. Opted for cans. All in all, pub grub as it should be done. Vegetarian options: Nice to see vegan/vegetarian options available Kid-friendliness: Outdoor seating and kiddies play area around the corner Parking: Standard V & A parking close to restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: Standard wheelchair accessible to restaurant
Very disappointed with my visit here. We t yo watch a live footy game, but when we got there, the fitness channel was on the screen. After some time the footy channel was eventually displayed. The main reason for my rating was the incredibly poor service from the waitress attending the table. Waited more than 15 minutes before eventually deciding to go to the bar and place my order with the barmen. In all the time we were there, not once did the waitress check in on our table. We could just as well have been invisible. Sibu, the barman gets a 10/10 for friendliness, efficiency and great service all round.
Honestly, would have given it a 1 star but the atmosphere and the beer was nice. But McDonald's or Burger kings burgers are much better than the mediocre burger we had both the classic and the steak burger lacked taste and flavor... Pity McDonald's or Burger King doesn't serve beers - I'd have went there instead!
Food was amazing but service from Sibusiso was terrible. We barely finished food and drink and he just pops up bringing us the bill and card machine without us asking. I jokingly asked if he's kicking us out, he looked at me and said YES and it wasn't even close to the closing time. Absolutely horrible treatment after and this on my birthday.
This place has probably the cheapest oysters in town. R90 for 6 with a beerRecommended dishesSteak Egg and Chips
Definitely recommend. Very friendly service and the food was amazing. The second time round not so much, but still enjoyed it alot. Had the sliders special, well priced! Nice place for just a beer as well. Or as you can see, a few.
I came first and ordered a margarita and oysters. The oysters were lovely and so was the first margarita. After that everything was off. My 2nd margarita tasted like syrup. My friend joined me and ordered ribs and chicken wings basket and I ordered a full portion if chicken wings. They weren't on par with what Mitchell's usually serves.The ribs hardly had meet on them. The wings weren't tasty nor were they cooked properly. How disappointing
