The best lunch downtown. The selection changes everyday so I'm not sure if I should describe my lunch in detail. There were 3 protein choices and about 8 salads. I had sumac chicken and the stuffed aubergine, a Greek salad, sauteed potatoes, and a lentil salad. All excellent. The carrot cake we couldn't resist was outstanding!!!!! Leave room for dessert even if you have to share.
The General Store is an institution, for exceptional home cooked food! Lots of fresh ingredients, vegetables and goodness! Each dish is made with love! Highly recommended for lunch! They have sharing plates, where you can share three veggie dishes! Absolutely delicious!
The best spot in Cape Town for a quick and healthy lunch. The staff are all so friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! The best part is that the buffet changes daily so you can go every day of the week and not get bored. A definite must try place!Food: 5/5
Such a delightful place. Cannot believe I only discovered it now, my fifth summer in CPT. The space itself is very European feeling, clean and white and comfortable. The staff are warm, professional and welcoming. Prices are very reasonable, salad portions generous and quality extremely high. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad plate 3 for r75 and felt satisfied without any additions, but you can add a protein. They do offer takeaway but get it to stay! Not just to reduce your environmental impact, but to enjoy the dining experience on their lovely crockery. Kudos to The General Store for providing top notch healthy and delicious food at an amazing price point. 100 rand for lunch and Rosetta coffee! Come try.

The taste of home cooked, at a very affordable price. Choose between various combinations of vegetables and a protein like chicken breast or schnitzel, red meat available too. Friendly staff and cosy interior if you want to sit down. Centrally located if you looking for a quick bite to eat. You won’t be disappointed.

The BEST THING EVER. Never disappoints and Colette is wonderful and helpful and always comes through. As for that chicken pie - my new deathrow meal. Best option for catering !!!!, favourite lunch spot, fresh menu and oh! the brownies too!!
Beautiful little place with fresh food
Quite a chilled store...the ambience is beautiful...The coffee is amazing & the Barista knows what she's doing...love the place.
