Worth a try because staff is surprisingly aware when it comes to gluten-free options in the detail of their menu and the music is simply awesome. Dishes have really nice crossings of flavored nuances, high standards in a chill ambiance - keep the groove guys! Oh and they have a popcorn machine :
Another brilliant night out at Piano Bar, celebrating a dear friend's birthday. We were once again impressed with the great service from professional staff, their absolutely delicious, well presented, exotic tapas menu, and the excellent live music performance which adds to a fun and sophisticated night out. We love you, Piano Bar, the true gem of de Waterkant!
This was a lovely venue. The waiter moved our table without asking closer to the live music. The tapas menus was incredible. lamb Croquettes, BBQ chicken spring rolls & corn ribs were amazing. Recommend. Unfortunately the Malva pudding was very dry, almost like a traybake cake which was not expected given the high quality of their mains. We did mention this to them and they deducted it from the bill. Overall, music was great, mains were great and the service was also top notch.
We booked a table and the one they give us was nearby the bar. We were basically spending the night with the bartenders. we went here, especially for the live music in to see a live band. if you are lucky, you might see them, but there’s not a lot of tables that offers a view on the stage. The stage is ill positioned, only a few tables can see it. We ordered food and was way too salty. The waiters were very kind, however. If you like live music, maybe better go for the drink but not for dinner I do not recommend.
This is the ideal venue for sundowners because of the building's wrap around balcony. They offer a tapas menu. These are all small portions so it is advised that you order at least 3 items per person. Their pricing is a bit high given the portion sizes. 3 items pp plus drinks can cost u around R350 - R400 pp. The food is tasty and well presented. They offer live music which creates atmosphere. When I made the reservation I enquired after the genré of music that the band plays, I was told "a kind of afro jazz". This sounded my alley. The band, a 3 man string ensamble, however played music out of the mid 1930's Can Can era. Understandingly, this is not what I was looking forward to. I must howere commend the band for refined renditions. The service was commendable.
Nice little place. Cocktails and wine was great, the location was so near our AirB&B, the lady at the piano sang so beautifully. And there was a projector playing old school pictures films I haven’t seen in quite a while. Had a lovely experience.
Love this place! Good quality music and always fun to talk to people from all over the world there. Jazz nights and the best nights!
Food beautiful prepared and tasty, however the portion sizes were so tiny that we left hungry after 7 tapas plates between 2 of us. The prices charged are what you’d expect to pay for a full portion meal so unfortunately not value for money at all. Probably a better option if you’re just looking for a drink and snack.
Friendly staff. Seating too cramped. Music good. Portions tiny. Taste of food very average. I've eaten better tasting food at the Spur. Not value for money at all. Really spoiled my birthday celebration. I can't believe I allowed myself to dine here. Won't recommend to any fine dining food lover. How do you justify these type of prices combine with average quality and tiny portions. Wish I didn't go there. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Vegetarian options: What a bad birthday experience. My evening was totally ruined. Ordered the Broccoli. Got 4/5 pieces of disintegrated heads and leaves. So disappointing. Definitely wont recommend to any fine dining food lovers. Prices for the portions served were shocking. Definitely not value for money, which is all you really expect. Dietary restrictions: To put it mildly. What a rip off. Id rather spend more money and get a decent size meal instead of Tapas that don't even touch sides. The portions and taste don't justify the amount of money you will need to spend.
The drinks are amazing and staff is friendly. However, Google has the wrong hours and they actually close at 11pm at least the staff said we couldn’t get drinks after 11 which was kind of a bummer since we wanted to hangout more after getting one drink. Also the Piano Show does end early so don’t expect anything to happen at this bar past 10pm.
