The River Palace On The Vaal

Such a beautiful place with so much potential. Unfortunately the premises are extremely dilapidated. It does seem that regular maintenance hasn't been done in ages. With a bit of an upgrade/face lift, the place can be so much more inviting. Such a pity

River palace is an amazing place even though the new management is still renovating. The service is excellent I don't even want to mention the food. I really enjoyed myself. Go in numbers to enjoy this wonderful experience. Wow

Food is good. There was alot not on the menu. The service was a bit slow. But it was a lovely afternoon in general.

Terrible service! Husband was busy docking, when a guy come asking, must buy something at pub, while busy docking, really.

Very unpleasant. Thought would spoil my family a bit to take the drive out. Was total waste of time and very disappointing. Place very dirty and waiters have no personality at all. Could not even greet properly. My wife said just to give it a chance as we have just spent almost an hour on the road and let's just give it a chance beacause of the river and the boats passing. We cleaned off a table by our self so we can just sit down. After a few min a waiter came to help us only to tell us there is no menus but she will tell us what the availability is. She gave us 3 options but also had no clue of what the food is. After 45 min of waiting for something to drink we decided to stand up and go. Already for the place being so dirty we where stressed if the food will be clean. I really felt bad for leaving and if they would be charged for the drinks but this was really a bad experience and the place has so much potential. Cant see how ppl can still go there.

Pre-booked for a group breakfast, when we arrived at opening time we were told the stock had been sold out which would require a trip to the shops and a much later preparation time. Fortunately there's a great alternative place just across the road as we had traveled 110kms to get there. I will not go back.

They've upgraded the top bar and the workers there, great service, great food. It's a place that makes you feel comfortable and welcomed.

Had not been to this venue for a few years as food and service was not great. Pleased to report we spent a wonderful afternoon sitting in the garden next to the river, the service was good, the food was great and served on hot plates. Best Kahlua coffee I have had in a while. Will def be back soon

We had our year end function here. I will strongly recommend this venue. The food braai menu 6 was great and the cruise was really enjoyed. All the girls enjoyed their day.
