There's no doubt the food is incredibly well made with passion: the hand-made pasta was superb and the thin-based pizza was perfectly cooked. So I was really surprised by the caprese salad we had as a starter which was incredibly bland. The tomatoes were essentially tasteless and the mozzarella, which really seemed homemade, lacked depth of flavour. The chili and garlic condiments were extremely tasty and I think the prices in general are really fair for this authentic Italian restaurant. So I'm saddened to not leave a higher rating but the atmosphere was dull for a Friday, and the service was haphazard we were ultimately served by 3 different people. No one explained the specials to us so we didn't feel that welcome. The traditional welcoming feeling you get in a great Italian restaurant was lacking, but maybe we just had dinner there on the wrong night. It happens. But the main dishes were really good so we'll give it another try and see how it goes.
What an amazing Italian restaurant. We had a special order of a whole roasted piglet, which was absolutely delicious. The starters are all amazing and I can highly recommend the gorgonzola snails and the arancini balls. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Definitely have a chat about his restaurant and history.
Best pizza in Pretoria, hands down! Ordered 3 pizzas - the Quattro Stagioni always a favourite, the Italia and the Cristiano on Valentine’s Day. Delivered hot and fresh and my goodness they DID NOT disappoint! Definitely the best pizzas in Pretoria- by far. And believe me- we eat a lot of pizza and have tried many different places.
Authentic Italian goodness. And if you go on Tuesdays it’s half price pizza. The venue is a cozy house with a good wine selection including some imported Italian. Service is friendly. Make sure to reserve a spot here as it gets busy, especially on the aforementioned Tuesdays. Also: Try the Gelato!
Best pizza in Pretoria! Love the authentic combinations and ingredients. The receptionist who waits on the customer and answers the calls was rather impolite and impatient.

Pizzas are great , and not expensive at all. Really great service as well. Had a margarita-, seafood and a regina pizza
I bought Ox tongue pasta and salmon pasta. The ox tongue was nice. Generous portion. Nice, homey taste. The Salmon pasta was over priced at R180. Not worth it at all. The salmon is almost non existent in that pasta. For the money we paid, I expected flavourful and good portions. I will not be buying pasta from there again. My husband loves salmon and he was very disappointed.
I HIGHLY recommend Fabio’s Was my second encounter at Fabio’s. The true test of a pizzeria is to test a Margarita, there is no toppings to hind behind and WoW dit it deliver. We had both options available and it did not fail. The true Italian cuisine options are true to the roots and especially the in season menu changed daily. See you again soon.
Always amazing authentic Italian food. They have a lovely special on Tuesdays where you get half price pizza of you order a drink.
