The Medical Students Association represents M.B.Ch.B and B.Med.Sc students of the University of the Free State.
Our aim is to serve and promote the needs of MSA members, internally and externally, according to the following objectives.
i.)To be an on-going liaison between the M.B.Ch.B and B.Med.Sc students and persons or organizations either within the University or externally.
ii.)To promote the view of the Medical School to students and staff on campus and in public.
iii.)To protect and advance the interests of the affiliated MSA members as far as it falls within the committee’s jurisdiction.
iv.)To initiate and coordinate events and activities for the above mentioned students, either upon request or to address a certain need
v.)To connect with other student organisations within the Faculty as a joint student body, on behalf of the MSA members.
vi.)To offer a balanced academic, cultural, sporting and social program to its members, as well as promote interpersonal relationships within the faculty.
vii.)To identify and develop leadership among medical students.
viii.)To expand the knowledge and insight of the Medical Science discipline.
ix.)To advance the insight and general knowledge of its members by stimulating interest in developmental opportunities.
x.)To maintain a healthy internal, independent financial policy as a Non-profit organization.
