To The Sands Management: thank you so much for your quick and proactive response to my previous rather negative review. The issues in my room are being attended to, which I really appreciate. Excellent service from friendly, efficient staff. And again, 5 out 5 for making The Sands a completely smoke free zone. But … always a but! I don’t think The Sands is for me. Personal preference, of course, I know it’s a family resort, but the non-stop noise and loud music from the entertainment area is just a bit too much. I also appreciate the possibility of moving rooms again, exceptional service but I don’t want to have to try and arrange this every time I come down, and of course I can’t always count on another room being available. However, to everyone else, if you have kids and that is your thing, 5/5 to The Sands. Superb resort, superb location and superb service.

Great hotel for families with little children. The adult pool is from 20 years old so everyone under 20 needs to go to the main pool and listen to baby shark. The nail spa is offered a cheap manicure which breaks off almost immediately.

Complement to the front end offices. I did lost my handbag, Only remember when we came back from a walk get at my room then remember my handbag ask at the waiter’s they told me it at the desk the guy notices me and give me my handbag A lady gave it ti them and everything is still in my handbag. I did thank him in person but I also want management to know they can be proud of there staff . Well done!!!! Rooms: Its a pleasure to see your rooms well look after and the staff is well trained.

This is a lovely resort with great restaurants and fantastic activities for families. It's also great that there's an adult-only pool area. The rooms could do with some updating, and when we had requests we sometimes had to ask twice before they were actioned. We visited while the Ecoli levels were very high so we couldn't enjoy the beach activities. The staff were not forthcoming about the state of the water and we had to Google to find out that the beaches were tainted. That said, it's great value for money and the location is wonderful.

This is by far the best hotel experience I've ever had. From check in to check out everything went smooth. The staff are friendly and helpful. Modern rooms. Fresh towels and room cleaning daily. Provide beach and pool towels. Adults swimming pool is bliss, away from the hassle and bustle of children. They have a variety of activities for children daily to keep them busy, and things for the adults too. It's walking distance from the main beach and a regional mall. We loved it so much we booked the next working day to go back later this year. Only thing that would make it even better is to close the adult pool as it closes at 18:00. Rooms: Modern and lots of closet space. Nearby activities: Walking distance Very to a regional mall as well as the Umhalanga main beach. Walkability: Have lifts all over the hotel and a disability facility on the 8th floor. Food & drinks: There's a tuck shop, Milkylane, Mugg and bean, Spur, Italian menu as well as an Italian restaurant onsite.

Great location and fantastic views , there are so many activities for children and adults. Our rooms were cleaned every day on time , and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. We stayed here for a week, and there was such a variety of restaurants on the premises. We were spoilt for choice , Oceans mall within walking distance. Loved the live nightly music. Thanks to friendly office staff . Definitely will be back.

Stayed with family over a weekend. Generally pleasant place, finishings were modern. They do have a no smoking and no cooking policy on the premises though. So you have to eat out or buy food you can warm in the microwaveRooms: 4/5

Beautiful resort with an amazing view and cool rooms The inside of the resort feels like a mini mall...with shops,playing areas and even restaurants Has 2 pools and other outdoor facilities Rooms are nice for couples Only downside is the load shedding...but that's something that cannot be resolved Pov: I didn't stay here just visited but was really impressed with the place

Great ocean views no doubt... But very family orientated. If you don't have kids the experience will make you feel like an imposter lol. But on a brighter note great place to unwind and relax, restaurants and service are excellent, but they close early, once again family orientatedgreat for parents and their kids.Rooms: 4/5

This is a wonderful, laid-back and spacious place, especially for a family getaway . The resort is probably due for a revamp, but everything is in working order, and the staff really fuss over their guests. In many ways, the customer is king hereRooms: 3/5
