I was excited to see this place since I last saw it sometimes in 1995. God's wonder. Huge enough not to miss it while passing.
Its a great place to relax and even to have fun like bbq/braai fun on boats friends and family activities fields
nice fishing place
Over from the UK staying with my folks for a while, and they suggested we go and see the Vaal dam wall, as the dam is over 100% full. The internet said that there were 8 sluice gates open, which would've been a site to see. There were none open, but still a lovely trip, and a sunny, warm winter's day. We enjoyed our time there and had some lovely pictures anyway:
We rented a houseboat from Old Willow for 3 days 2 nights! What an absolute blast. We've been before as a family, however, this time it was just myself and my hubby. Carp are spawning, so we only caught bass and barbel. But so relaxing and fun.
The surroundings are beautiful, but entrance fee was much to high for wat you pay for. Place was so neglected!! And there is so much potential for developing a great camping site...
Absolutely the best for any functions or weekend getaways. Professional service, accommodation, and modern and traditional design. Every single aspect is GO FOR GOLD. Best of the best. I want to thank the staff for their hard work and professional heartwarming service... You spoiled us in every way
Awesome spot to break free from everyday life. Throw a line in take a breathe of fresh air.
Quite and cool place to enjoy you free time
I love the vaal. The people are so friendly. My partner and I went away for Valentines weekend. We booked into a lovely establishment called "Bersheba River Lodge". This place was so beautiful and relaxing. The perfect destination for romantic getaways for couples or peaceful family holidays. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. The lodge provides breakfast, lunch and supper at an additional cost. There are bomas. There are units which are not self catering and therefore if you braai by the boma you need to make use of their bar. There are self catering units. There is a pool and the lodge has a magnificent view of the river. There is a wine cellar which can be used for a romantic dinner. There is a jacuzzi. There is dstv but with limited channels. I know the owner is working on arranging couple massages by the pool. They do weddings and functions. I would highly recommend this venue and we will definitely be returning
