Vaalrus Recreation Resort

Always space, Owners very welcoming and assist where they can. Fishing is good, it's the Vaalrivier. Would like if shop could be open aswell as the slides for the kids. Google maps gets confused to where to go.

I booked at vaalrus for a weekend ,when we arrived I was told that the lady in charge gave my chalet to someone else we had to wait and wait for them to get us another place , when we eventually got keys to a place it was dirty the roof Is black the room was full of spiders and spider webs we saw cockroaches and the beds was a disaster the matrasses are worn out I immediately felt disgusted I opened the fridge to put in coldrinks and the fridge was so so dirty I went to management and asked them if they can refund me and they said no but I paid them the full amount and asked them for a refund they said that they don't refund but in the rules they send to me it stated that they don't refund in deposit so I lost all that money is there maybe something I can do any advise.,and I had my two kids with me I couldn't sleep there with them

Place is dirty. Management is horrible. Bathrooms are a total disgrace. "Restoration" word replaced the meaning of "rehab" according to owner and management. Feel unsafe with the rehab people they have on the resort.

Chalets not in good condition. Mattresses worn, and definitely not in a good condition. If you rent a chalet dont move from the fishing spot or you will loose it. Got a spot turned to pack out cars at chalets and then space taken. Owners wants to blame rasism if you complain So other people fishing right in front of your chalet. You have to move to another spot. Very unprofessional. Wont recommend this place at all.

The Well is awesome place to rest in The Lord open heaven filled with peace tranquility and joy Staff are friendly

3km dirt road prior to arrival 4x4 recommended especially if it rains If your going for fishing it would be advised to get a fishing spot ASAP as space is very limited qnd they fill up very quickly , you may be left waiting until the next day Take your own supplies Food & Water / cooking equipment / pillows & blanket Accommodation was sub-standard and the resort itself was neglected . I would rather have pitched my tent and stayed in there . Pack warm clothes . I made this mistake of thinking its mid summer and got caught out when the temp dropped and it began to rain All-in-all not really my scene and I can not really recommended it to anyone unless you are able to rough it out . Many better options are available along the Vaal River

I am very disappointed with the flat we rented this weekend. We moved in late on Friday about 18h00 and found that the place was dirty. When we wanted to make breakfast we had to was all the crockery before we were able to use it The biggest disaster were that the pots and pans were rusted. The equipment was very basic and for the price not worth it to visit again

Firstly the road to get there is poorly marked, incorrect GPS co-ordinates on their website and Google maps takes you to a gate that hasn't been used in ages. The road is only passable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle, do not attempt it with a smaller car. The chalets and flats are severely neglected with rusted cutlery and pans, beds only suitable for children not old enougj to make a dent in the thin mattresses. Of you ignore all those factors, it is a great fishing site.

What a shame, these people should not be running a holliday resort. The place is an absolute mes. Accommodation is dirty, mattress are dirty and worn out, cockroachs every we're, grass is long and fishing spots are minimal with a high bank. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND VAALRUS TO MY WORST ENEMY.
