Great service, great prices, beste fish and chips in the karoo

Maybe I was just unlucky... but coming from Johannesburg and expecting touristy service and attractive prices.. I was not very impressed. Me and my family did not feel very welcome at this restaurant. But then again maybe my experience was 1 out of a 1000?Food: 3/5

Not often do you find such a cool place in a tiny town to have a great coffee and chill in a beautiful setting. Elbé Van Heerden has established a great eatery in Nieu Bethesda. Very well worth a visit, when you are in Nieu Bethesda.

With the new owner, Elbé Van Heerden, this place took a turn for the best! Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and in the heart of the karoo, afternoon lunches go down well!

Thanks for a wonderful time and the chips and pork was excellent and that during a rainstorm and with no electricity. You are a star!!

Elbé serves great food, with a great authentic Karoo vibe. She may seem angry at first, but don't let that fool you. Great food with an even greater person running the show.

The food was plain but very good and tasty. Good moerkoffie. Nice sunny stoep to sit and kuier. The owner was not very hands-on, did not realized that there are new customers, forgot to place our order at kitchen, overflowing ashtrays from previous evening - it did not bother too much, but it is small things that can play a role in the success of small businesses in small towns. Ouma had a good suggestion of adding rusks on the menu. Moerkoffie and rusks will be .
