Not nice, the market is in a different area compared to the last festival two years ago. Looking at the banners and posters the shows seems low quality this year. Dit wil voorkom asof die Kunstefees nou die varke fees geword het. The festival is during summer time now and everyone is hot & sweaty. With no proper resting areas or restaurants it makes for a real unpleasant experience.
Home grown to warm your heart and soul in the Free State winter! Although we only have the mini-fest this year, there are shows for every taste and enough food/other stalls to enjoy yourself.
My wife and I had a good experience at the Arts Festival. Variety of treats and different stalls made it worthwhile to go

Why they hold this festival in the middle of the icy cold winter in the Free State, only the organisers will know . Believe me, it is cold, very cold. Despite this, what a wonderful "cultural awakening" opportunity for the people of central South Africa with an absolutely amazing programme covering ALL art genres!!! And the food, eats and treats and art markets AMAZING!!!!
Very good variety of art, films, music, theatre, book discussions and mire available on the campus of Free State university. Well planned and managed arts festival. I experienced a problem when attending a discussion between two writers and flea market music were blasting, venue manager was extremely incompetent in handling the situation.
Forward thinking yet traditional Afrikaans arts festival catering for every taste. Really. Put it on your calendar!

Disappointed to pay R45 for entrance as an alumni and every time I had to get onto campus to watch a show.
