Description

Open since 2009, Ye Olde Tavern has been a fixture in this quaint historical town. In 2017, Sonya and her team recently renovated and moved into a beautiful "Grand Olde" building located at 47 Bath Street in the heart of Montagu. Showcasing the interesting history of this beautiful town, Ye Olde Tavern has a relaxed and informal ambiance and has something for everyone!
Perfect venue for a romantic dinner, family treat or night out with friends.
Specialty dishes include Lamb Shank, Traditional Bobotie and Cape Malay Chicken Curry. An extensive menu with appealing choices ranging from appetizers, salads, pizza, pasta, fish and the best steak and ribs in town. Plenty choices available for Vegetarians, Banting (GF) and Children. Ye Olde Tavern is fully licensed and has a wonderful selection of local wines on the menu.
The tranquil beer garden and social lounge is open from 3:30pm. Dinner is available from 5:30pm till 9:30pm. Popular with locals and visitors alike, it is always advisable to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Nice little pizza place with inside and outside tables. The staff are friendly and helpful they even did take aways for us. We did wait a bit long for our pizza however to be fair it was 7 of them. They are easy to miss from the road so drive carefully and you should see them. There is a nice bar with some interesting art work around.
Not bad... Starter good , burger great! My chips were under done : but im not a big chips eater anyway, so lucky for them I suppose. The kitchen staff was notified of my chip situation I believe : Diana had the butter chicken chicken overdone :. but the flavour was great. My only chance at a chocolate dessert on the menu was not possible.... they did not have it in the kitchen only on the menu. HND/reviews
Amazing food, awesome atmosphere and great service. Thank you Elvin. The lamb shank sauce was 10 out of 10 lamb shank needed another 30 min in the oven. Creame brûlée, excellent. Chicken livers were amazing. Thank you Elvin for finding me a table since you were fully booked for Valentine’s Day. Exceptional service, GREAT RESTAURANT.

We stopped for some light dining on our way back to Cape Town, but wish we had more time to spend here. The food was exquisite and hit just the right spot.

One of the seldom places they offer a ‚Bobotie‘ - a real traditional South African meal. Lekker Food was good...and more than enough. Pizza has too much cheese...if you like Italian pizza. Service was really nice...good guy : They have a nice garden in the back yard.
Shoe Club happens ones a month for us lady's and this one was amazing. Great food, friendly staff and the outside is like your own garden but better. Loved everything about this place!!
