Its a pity that the water pressure wasn't better. Disappointed that there was not enough coffee or tea and sugar in the room. Beds were very comfortable and we were warm enough. Overall would definitely recommend them.I really enjoyed the experience. Nearby activities: Plenty to do
We Stayed at the Chalets , it has a beautiful view of the lagoon , you have to drive a short distance to the beach or you could use a kayak etc to get there via the lagoon . The kitchen was well equipped , the rooms and bathrooms were clean and neat. Beautiful setting , very relaxing environment . No generators for loadshedding to be sure to take additional lights for those times. Braai area on the patio.Rooms serviced daily .
High season rates not justified especially for just two people. Most enjoyable for children, otherwise nothing to rave about. Only highlight is lagoon and 10min walk or free ferry to a lovely beach. Rooms: Ablution facilities too far from campsite and despite it being high season not all ablution blocks were open despite paying seasonal rates. However, as more people checked in during the actual Easter weekend an additional nearby block was opened. Food & drinks: Pizza was awesome, way overpriced thou, starting R135 for basic margarita. Noteworthy details: Laundry is R30 & additional R30 for drying. Latter is set on timer so if your clothes are not fully dry you need to buy another token. Reception desk and management are friendly.
Camped for 1 night - 100 sites. Fabulous management and family run. Beautiful forest sites, with electricity and water, new ablution blocks. Great restaurant and outdoor area to relax and have a drink. On the lagoon with a ferry to the beach.
The place is beautiful..... I visited for the day.... and took a bike ride there for breakfast... Unfortunately.... Their cappuccinos need work - definitely was not worth the R32. Coffee was very watery. And was little upset, that we ate, paid the bill, went for a small walk and came back to ask for a glass of ice tap water - was asked to pay R5 for the water.
Poor Coffee Quality and Portion Size. We understand that the lodge doesn't specialise in coffee but if you gonna serv your cappuccino in a big mug be decent and fill it to the top. Otherwise just use a smaller mug. The place is beautiful overall.Rooms: 3/5
Zinkwazi is an awesome place to stay. We have visited twice and recently recommended it to friends. They however had an awful experience with very loud neighbours up to 1am and no assistance from staff to get things resolved. Zinkwazi proudly displays that they are a quiet caravan park, but then don't enforce it and leave campers to their own devices. They won't be back, and we likely won't be either. In addition to this, geysers don't start up automatically after load shedding, and even though staff know this, nothing is done about it until a camper requests it. Not good enough.
Had a great stay over the last weekend. The one swimming pool was a bit swompy and dirty, too close to a duck pond that had a bad smell, but the other is lovely and overall great.Service: 5/5
No back up during load shedding which was challenging for work. Did not stay at the hotel. Day tripService: 3/5
Pity the lagoon mouth was open so no boating activities. The pools where open. The main pub and restaurant open. But the lagoon pub closed only opened for New Years eve which was a good party Rooms: Kitchens in Chalet getting a bit old could use a refurbishment and better glasses etc. . Rooms and view are great. Nicely done Braai.
