LOVE 21 Penn Apartments!! It's close to everything. I walk to work at Penn Square Mall or catch the city bus right in front of the apartments to local restaurants. LOVE the spiral staircases...GORGEOUS! A plus, I have a washer and dryer included in my apartment. I started out on a short term lease and when it was up, I decided to sign a year lease! Great place to live!
I changed my review from three to five stars The management has been so helpful and everyone's enjoyed living here spacious and comfortable in a great location.
Megan has been most helpful since I’ve first applied for these apartments, was able to get in and have a home for me and my daughter due to struggles prior, forever grateful. It has been mostly quiet since I’ve moved in. Any issues I’ve had, has been resolved fairly quickly.
Maliah has really made everything easy I love it 6 months there and still love it
My boyfriend and I have been here about 5months now and we still absolutely love it! The apartment was basically brand new when we moved in and we've had NO problems at all. It feels like home here and everyone is so nice, plus the smaller complex is great as well.The property manager Stephanie is AMAZING and is always quick to help and respond to any needs, concerns or questions. Lastly Leo the maintenance man is great as well. If you're looking for a great place that's affordable, in a convenient location and in a great area then 21 Penn is definitely for you!
Several years back, the apartments were clean, well maintained, and quiet. Now, fast forward, ownership has changed and that ownership is the equivalent of "slum lord." No pest control, yet charged for it. No oversight with tenants - rowdy, police swats, rude! And now, have the nerve to put 'tags' on people's cars for expired tags. Worried about tags but will NOT clean up the complex and do their due diligence. Do NOT move to 21 Penn Apartments
Stephanie was a blessing in disguise. I am completely more than satisfied with not only my apartment but most importantly with Stephanie's impeccable customer service. You can honestly tell she not only loves her job but her property and tenants! Anyone who is as passionate as Stephanie is a blessing!
Nobody is ever in the office. There is a new girl every other month. There has been "multiple" owners and they say they don't have records or you did not pay that months rent. I've been getting charged month to month when for the past couple months I've called the office and emailed them and never recieved a reply. The water gets turned off all the time , most the times without a notice. This is just a few problems I've had.
Location is great, price is doable, I love the remodeling, my apt came with everything new. New fridge, flooring, microwave, stove etc. However, there is just constant remodeling everywhere. I wake up to hammering! Also, office hours aren't always true. The person who's in charge of the office is practically never in her office. Her excuses are usually because of her other job or her son is sick. I would appreciate it if the apt management could be given to someone who can actually uphold all of the duties because you could end up paying rent late. You have to pay rent by money order which is a hassle because you have to pay taxes on the money order and then go to their office to drop it off. It's not worth dealing with noises and terrible management.
DO NOT RENT HERE!!! THE BUILDINGS ARE MORE THAN RAGGEDY. Kris Chandler the manager will sweet talk you into signing a lease and double charge you for crazy hidden fees after!!!! To start off they only have ONE Maintenance man for the ENTIRE COMPLEX .. CAN YOU SAY CHEAP !?! The first day Did my walk through the apartment was not as clean as it could have been, the floors where BEYOND dirty and KRIS CHANDLER noticed water residue on the floor before i did. The manager made note of this and soon my dishwasher was replaced before i even moved in, as she thought that was the issue for the residue appearing. I moved in around feburary 2018 and LESS than 30 days later my bathroom ceiling FLOODED in!!! The drains at this complex are all shared by the same residence according to another resident who ended up calling their OWN plumber to finally correct his issue and was then notified of this....how NASTY This means when there is a leak the water you experience from the flood is water from another person's BATH!!! When i first notified 21 Penn of the issue they did not have an EMERGENCY MAINTENANCE LINE to call until recently... after i complained of course.. since there was no emergency hotline i had to wait days until their ONE maintenance came by. He told me upon arrival how important it was that i need to contact them as soon as it happens... yet they didn't have an emergency hotline for maintenance smh. He cut out a hole in the ceiling where the flood was coming from and told me he could not pinpoint the leak WHILE IT WAS LEAKING!!! Long story short the ONE maintenance man doesnt know his own job and I'm sorry 21 penn but as a resident that is NOT my problem!!! For an entire 5 days they left the hole in my ceiling for the entirety of the investigation and did not bother to at least tarp around the hole so we wouldn't get splashed on from the neighbor's upstairs drainage... they closed the hole and didn't even fix the problem.. 4 months and 2 weeks later guess who has a flood in their bathroom ceiling .. yes, me! So its back and forth between the the manager Kris Chandler telling me im lying and the maintenance saying he cant find where the water is coming from. The manager has became very rude and unprofessional just on my reports of the leaking. Im even more upset that i get told as a customer im lying about their OLD BUIDILING. this is my first apartment and i needed something fast. I didnt do good enough research so im here to inform as a current resident. No Matter How CHEAP they offer you.. its NOT WORTH IT. As of May 2018 I have now experiencing flooding from my AC unit.. it produces more of a flood than my bathroom ceiling currently does.. I dont even USE the AC guys but of course i reported it but KRIS CHANDLER SAYS IM LYING again!!! She seems to take the issues personally out on her residents instead of actually fixing or finding a solution like a professional manager would. Yes the location is GREAT and convenient.. but there are A LOT of people who walk penn and 50th area DAILY, the maintenance man leaves your door UNLOCKED AND UNSUPERVISED as he comes in and out all day to fix the issues.. Yes, they make you get renters insurance before you move in but it seems like its mandatory only because they are TOO LAZY to fix their buildings..PINNACLE COORPORATE DOES NOT CARE NORE REPLY TO THEIR VOICEMAILS hint you dont even get a live rep to assist, straight to voicemail. Dont get me started about the landscaping there is more tall grass and weeds on our property then all of Africa and the Great Plains combined. Save your money, time and mental.. move somewhere else!!!
