recent time I went during Astros world series 2022 the speakers sounded broken. no bass and the music just sounded flat… girls get in free mostly but they still make guys pay to get in and it wont even be busy we probably wont be back..

Decent place. Half the time you get an impression that staff doesnt really know what they're doing. Turning volume up and down. System is pretty weak. Bartenders could be Way more attentive. DJ booth looks like a barn. Batgrooms need a complete overhaul. Gets busy and a good place to kick it with friends.

Really all this place is good for is a couple pics and that’s it. A wannabe lame club that try and beg everyone “who look like something” to come in when they walk by. I went on a Friday with some friends and we had women with us they let us in no problem. Then came back the next day with a couple of friends no women, and security tells us $20 after I saw a group of people walk in? Just be consistent and not some fraudulent establishment!

Ordered two drinks and while paying with card and signing for my tab on the tablet, bartender snatched it and went behind the bar suspiciously and added her own tip to my card. She literally stole money. When I asked for a receipt they said they were out of receipt paper. I asked to view on the tablet and I saw she stole money. When confronted she just walked away and another bartender offered me another drink or $5. I have a picture of both my “receipt” from tablet and the $5 refund. It’s not about my $5 but how casually the staff is aware and complicit in stealing money from patrons.

So we were in line and I came with a group of about 10 people, everyone had a Texas license but me. I was at the end of the line and I showed my passport and suddenly the guy "remembered" there was a cover for men... uhh ok I guess that could happen.. even though the bar was almost empty but ok. later 3 people in our group mentioned that they saw about 7 guys go by without being charged by the bouncer while we were talking to the other bouncer Anyways, we didn't all have cash so we asked if we could use the ATM, and the bouncer said it's out of service. A friend paid for all of us and we finally got inside, we wanted to go to the rooftop and found out that we needed to pay another 10 per person!! Later at the top one of the bar tenders to double charge us for drinks when one of my friends bought a round for 5 and he tried to charge two of us who were in the back. When we told him he said "oh I thought you guys didn't know each other" and I asked him why, in that case, he had charged my friend 5 drinks and only given him 5?? Overall deplorable service, trash of bouncers, ripoff of a place. Don't waste your money here. I've attached a photo of the bouncers who are the most racist, at the time of the picture they had just thrown out a guy with what we thought was extremely excessive force

These bouncers have no communication skills whatsoever. They let a group of 10 people in before us some of them being my friends and then when the line got to the three of us, the bouncer said, “we don’t usually do this but we have to charge the guys $10 cash only to get in due to high volume” as if they didn’t just let 10 people in without paying right before that. Did he think I wouldn’t notice him charging us and not them? Save your money for a place with more consistency and clear communication. Save your $10 for a place that’s actually worth a cover charge, maybe one that gives you a free drink. Just not some place that charges people randomly because they feel like it.

Came on a Saturday night because some friends wanted to try it out but I should have read the reviews before coming. The bouncers do hustle you to ‘skip’ the line when it’s busy which wasn’t a surprise. The drinks were mediocre but the music was good. While we were sitting down in an area we got kicked out bc it had been rented and they were super rude about it. We came around 10 left to bar hop and came back around 12 but all of a sudden our attire wasn’t appropriate enough so we would have to pay extra to get in? Save your money and go across the street.

I hate this place so I am more than happy to express my disdain for this place. When I read the most recent story about this bar's business conduct, I was infuriated. It's no secret that this place has been unprofessional and downright disgusting with their practices for a while. I am glad it is finally coming to light. The "bouncers" and "officers" have always seemed like complete jerks. They have never been nice and I have witnessed many people being turned away from this establishment for no real reason besides at the whim of the door guys. I can never tell if I'm going to be charged a cover to go in or not. Gaslamp tries WAY too hard to be cooler than it is. Drinks, music, service, crowd are all sub-par. You are much better off frequenting the less "cool" places in midtown. Don't waste your time in a place that is completely racist and trying too hard. It's a shame because I actually like the patio area. Hope someone else takes over their lease and replaces it with a business we can be proud to have in Houston. Houston is a city that accepts and applauds diversity and their businesses should reflect just that.

I don't ever write reviews, but in light of all the news about this place I would like to write one. About two years ago I went with a group of girls to this establishment, while all girls were going in for free one of them got told by the bouncer "you are not cute enough to not pay cover". We obviously left. This was not racial discrimination, but it is to show the general attitude of the place.

I don't really get this bar. One would think because of the whole racial fiasco they had they'd let more people in, but it is one of the only, if not THE only bar in midtown that charges cover to get in the door. They have a massive 3 floor establishment with outdoor rooftop patio, second floor club vibe and first floor bar with outdoor area yet most of the time it remains empty even during peak weekend hours. Sometimes when it's looking really empty they'll let guys in for free or if you have sexy looking girls with you. The most outrageous thing is they'll charge you to get in but also they'll charge you again if you want to go upstairs to the "vip" area. Terrible place I'd just avoid it and hopefully it closes down soon and goes to some better management.
