We love 4pawz only, it’s a very clean place. They really go the extra steps to make sure the pets are their top priority! I just want to say how pleased I am with the grooming my dog receives. Helen does a fabulous job, My Mac looks amazing!! I think she deserves to know how happy we are with her grooming skills. Everything I ask she’s goes above and beyond to see that our requests are made. My dog is happy when he comes home so I know she cares for him!! Mac is part of our family and I’m very happy 4 pawz only has workers that treat the pets like their own!

FOUR PAWZ ONLY?! MORE LIKE BLOODY PAWZ ONLY! GROOMER LEFT MY CATS BACK CLAWS BLOODY. I WOULDN’T GET MY ANIMAL GROOMED BY MARY OR TRUST LAUREN AT THE FRONT DESK IF I WERE YOU! I took my first cat here and came out with a really good experience and tipped her very handsomely, but then I took my second cat here and this is when the nightmare began--the next week, and the experience was so awful I’m never coming back. When I called to make the appointment, I told the front desk that I wanted to schedule an appointment for my cat to get a lion cut done. I bring her in on appointment day, which is 10 am in the morning. I waited for five hours to get a call from them saying my cat was ready, but I ended up calling them and the front desk girl whose name I believe is Lauren who also made my appointment, said that the groomer tried calling me to tell me Misa was ready but it was the wrong number…apparently a fax number, which was a number not even remotely close to the number I had supplied them with numerous times through paper and through phone verification. So, I asked Lauren if my cat had to wait a long time? She said not really. So, I went there to pick her up and when I brought her in the car I realized her hair wasn’t even cut. (Lauren, it doesn’t take 5 hours for a kitty to get her nails trimmed and a bath so clearly that was a lie)! I went inside furious and even though my time and gas were wasted, and my cat had to wait in stress I wasn’t even offered any sort of customer courtesy; they told me I’d have to pay the difference after all that and no real acceptance of mistakes were made. I asked them why they didn’t do the lion cut when I specifically made the appointment for it. According to Mary, the appointment wasn’t even written down for a lion cut or let alone any cut, which is front desk’s job (even if they don’t know what a lion cut is, it’s their job to at least indicate that the cat is getting some sort of cut done). Also, I had to leave my poor kitty for ANOTHER one hour to get her actual cut finally. So, I return to pick her up, and tell front desk I’m not paying the difference for the way my service was today. I’m directed to the groomer Mary, who then directs me to the general manager Donna who understood the situation and was kind and understanding about it. Meanwhile the girl at the front desk tried to point fingers at me for being at fault in the situation, instead of learning to do her job correctly. You do not ever blame a customer Lauren, especially in a situation where you made mistakes (just because you can’t own up to them). I didn’t end up paying the difference. And…when I get home, things are worse than I expected.
I examine my cat closely, turns out her neckline wasn’t even blending in for a proper lion cut AND it’s crooked. Looked very rushed. Additionally, I checked her back paws and I found several very bloody nails. I trim my cat’s nails myself and have never ever made them bleed. The fact that there was still dry blood on them, means the groomer Mary who claimed to have 30 years of experience grooming cats doesn’t know what she’s doing. She clearly cut them too short and put my poor kitty in pain. That’s not acceptable at all. I was ABSOLUTELY FURIOUS! Our animals are our family and we don’t want them treated this way. I called them back up and spoke to Donna again. She was again very understanding… said she would speak to her groomer about it and also refunded me the money for the whole service. This was just overall a very BAD experience. No money makes up for the fact that my kitty was put in unnecessary pain and made to wait for very long hours. I KNOW it can’t take this long to groom a cat SIX HOURS and then they make excuses for it?! At Pet Supplies Plus where my sister took her cat, they always told you max THREE HOURS not FOUR TO SIX what my kitties experienced. I have to say THANK YOU DONNA FOR BEING VERY KIND AND UNDERSTANDING. I just wish front desk was more competent and there were not groomers there like Mary.

I dont often write reviews but I have to take a moment to share how wonderful 4 Paws is-- for dogs AND their owners! We were out of town with our 2 dogs in their care, and one of our dogs had a serious vestibular incident. On thanksgiving, of course. We were called right away, and a staff member AND the owner (whose company was due to arrive soon) took my dog to the emergency vet, waited with him, called us, etc. SUCH a comfort. This is care above and beyond. It is a wonderful facility with a great staff that loves dogs.

I have three dogs that have come here since puppies. They absolutely adore coming here and the best thing is they are tired and happy when they come home. I know they are in good hands and the employees all the way up to the owner gets to really know your dogs. I've tried several others in the area including Paw Palace in Lynwood. While they also have very nice people there your dog is not socializing and playing with other dogs there. Thus they are not tired at all when they come home. I've also visited Bark n Call in Crown Point and there boarding overnight means you must pick up by a certain time the next day. They are more costly and I must say the staff is not as friendly. 4pawz is the way to go and my number one go-to!
