5 Star Firearms

I went there with 2 of my buddies, we were impressed on how friendly the staff was. I have been at many ranges and 5 Star is on top, I was impressed with the up to date technology as well as the ventilation. I liked the large selection of guns and pricing. My buddy from the sheriffs department recommended 5 Star to me and I'm happy I went. I highly recommend 5 Star.

Crossed from WI to check 5 Star out. The facility is very nice and modern. The ventilation is good and targets can set to rotate in various training configurations. The staff is friendly but signing up to shoot their the first time was odd. We had to sign various paperwork and have out photos taken for their own personal database. I dont think this is an IL state procedure either. Was very off putting and awkward. Its nice you can shoot centerfire rifle rounds.

Whenever I come to 5 star they never fail to make me feel welcome there. Their selection is always great and their customer service is even better. This is the only gun store I go to and it's worth the 50 min drive for me. I urge you to check them out.

My friend brought me to shoot and possibly purchase a firearm. There was some discrepancy due to me having a medical cannabis card. The owner stated that I could not purchase or shoot and that he even had to ask me to leave. I wasn't aware that I couldn't purchase and he informed me of the difference between federal and state laws. I was very understanding even though it didn't make sense and was disappointing. I was waiting for my friend to finish her purchase and the owner kept bringing up scenarios and making statements that I felt were unnecessary. He also made statements that I later found out were untrue. I didn't need to be told the same thing over and over and be made to feel as if I did something wrong. The way I was made to feel was unnecessary. I called in previously and asked a gentleman about the subject before I even came in and he said he had no knowledge of it. So, to feel attacked when I came in was upsetting. I asked why the gentleman I spoke to didn't know. He said his employees aren't required to know. I would have saved myself an upsetting visit had the employees been knowledgeable on the subject. I left in tears but was able to at least find somewhere else to educate me about firearms and let me shoot.

The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The lanes were clean and very nice. I drove an hour to go here and was not let down. I will definitely go back.
