70 Capitol Yards

I'm a brand new resident, and I have absolutely no complaints about the application process. Jones was phenomenal the entire way. Very helpful and professional. I had to move my move-in date back a few weeks and he was still accommodating. The location is great. Great amenities. Concierge is always helpful. Definitely cannot be the price/sq ft. The reason for 4 stars - which can definitely be fixed. Hot water pressure - Unsure if it's just my unit, but my shower doesn't get hot AT ALL. At least not to my standards. I'd say it's very warm, but not hot enough for my liking. I will put in a maintenance request, but I'm unsure if it's something they can fix. Hopefully though, because I'd prefer a hot not warm shower. Update - Everything has been taken care of!

I got a really great price per sq foot, love the location, but building management is a major major headache to deal with. I had my AC break 4 times in one summer. Each time it took 2-4 phone calls/emails to get someone to look at the AC, and every time they failed to fix it and required me to reach out again. I spent about 4-5 weeks cumulative with no AC this summer. Heat broke and they also looked at it, failed to fix it, and failed to follow up with me several times. I also cannot get an email back up renewing my lease, which I am now far less inclined to do! Apparently garage door has also been broken for weeks and there have been many vehicle break ins. We’re also supposed to get email alerts when packages arrive, but I’ve had many packages come with no email, and the front desk needed days to locate my package after delivery. Grills also almost never have propane

I didn't have a great experience with the leasing agent who was supposed to show me the unit. His demeanor, tone, and attitude was unprofessional. I chose to not even see the unit due to him being so unwelcoming. Asked the concierge for the manager's name and he said he didn't know. This is proof that things can be great on the outside but on the inside it bad. Terrible first impression and representor for this property.

I toured Seventy1Hundred a few months ago and had the best experience with Nydja! Even though I was a walk-in, she was supremely helpful, professional, and kind. I toured a lot of buildings in the area and in my opinion, Seventy1Hundred has the most diverse floor plans and best value for square footage. I ended up moving somewhere else only because it was more convenient for my work commute. If not for that, I would have lived here!

I lived here for 7 1/2 months. It was very enjoyable as the apartment was nice, it's only a few blocks away from the Navy Yard Metro, it's a fifteen minute walk away from Pennsylvania Avenue, and some of the best restaurants are nearby. There's also the very pretty Anacostia Riverwalk by the National's Ballpark, which is conveniently close. I never had an issue with the apartment itself, as in I never had to call maintenance about anything. The labs downstairs are very convenient as there is a printer hooked up to four out of the five computers I never got one of the computers to work on the printer, and the internet is pretty fast. The gym is also well stocked, and I saw the lounge frequently being used to host parties. The pool on top is also pretty nice. In my whole stay there, the front door broke for one week, the back elevator was down my first month, but other than that there were no issues with the apartment at all. I would highly recommend for anyone that can afford it. Below is a picture of the view from a back apartment. The capitol building can be seen, though slightly obscured by the power plant. Also, the Washington Monument can be seen as well. The construction site never bothered me, and I doubt it will be there in a couple months.

70 Capitol Yards is a convenient location to the Navy Yard and Wharf areas; it’s a stones throw from the Capitol, and has lots of public transit options nearby. The building definitely shows it’s age, but there are lots of modern amenities and It seems to have been recently refurbished. It’s a perfect three star building; nothing is unliveable, unsafe, totally dirty, but it’s also not all brand new, sparkling clean, etc. For me, it gets an extra star for the location and convenience at the price point.

I just renewed my lease after my first 12 months at the property. Mark was super helpful as I decided on my next move. Location is key and can't beat the space at the price point. Parking is cheaper than most communities in the neighborhood.

Overall things are good here at 70 I St SE. The cleaning staff is diligent and keeps everywhere clean. The maintenance staff is always friendly. All the concierge personnel are courteous, smiling, attentive and friendly. The location is ideal with lots of places in Navy Yard and the National Mall to walk to. Truly a great place to live.

We've been very happy at 70 Capitol Yards and just renewed our lease for two more years! We've had a few maintenance needs come up over the past year as one would expect with a building that isn't brand new and are consistently impressed by the speed and professionalism of 70's maintenance team. Harry is always there for us and takes care of things quickly, and we have had great experiences with other maintenance staff as well. In the leasing office, we really appreciated Dom's help and patience in answering our questions when we came in to discuss our lease renewal. Jasmine, the manager, and the concierge staff are also friendly and helpful. Aside from the staff, 70 has very competitive pricing and an ideal location near Whole Foods, Capitol Hill, and the Navy Yard waterfront. Highly recommend!

Ever since the first day I moved in,there has been nothing but friendly and helpful neighbors, other tenants and staff. I really love 70 Capital Yards. Their isn't anything that I can say bad about this apartment complex. Keep up the good work.
