718 is the best. The reason it's the best is Joe, who is helpful and friendly and doesn't have an ounce of the kind of intimidation I worried a bike shop of this caliber might have. I felt like I was ready for a super cool bike. I ride a lot now and I want to ride more; but I am by no means an expert in bikes. Joe never made me feel like I wasn't legit enough to get a cool bike! He was patient and thoughtful in explaining the process for having a custom bike built by him, and he made sure I understood every step. He considered my interests and my experience as a cyclist, and he made me feel empowered to create the bike of my dreams. And holy cow - my bike, built by Joe, is incredible. It is zippy and stylish, and I could not be happier. This kind of curated experience is hard to come by, and it's even better when it comes with a super nice, chill person leading you along the way. I can't wait to do one of the rides that Joe leads - they sound awesome!
A lovely little shop with a wide assortment of biking, camping and outdoor gear. The owner is very friendly and very helpful, plus the store is just comfortable to be in with a lovely atmosphere. Hop in to get your biking adventure needs.
This is a great bike shop. It may be small in size but it's packed to the brim with extremely well curated high quality gear from trusted brands that you typically wont find at most bike shops. If you need help getting a custom bike built, outfitted for bike camping or bike touring this place is a must. The owner/operator is friendly, knowledgeable and honest. It's the bike I choose to go to when I find myself in Park Slope. 10/10 would recommend.
718 Cyclery is the best bike shop. I had the pleasure to go on an overnight bikepacking trip organized by the shop, which was super fun. I also did a custom bike build with Joe that came out great. Joe is generous, kind and has gone above and beyond for me. If you're looking for a new bike or adventure, you've found your shop!
Great spot for cycle gear! I got a frame bag and a cycle cap -- good selection for both. Staff was super friendly and helped me get my frame bag on my bike. I will definitely visit again!
718 Cyclery offers great, safe and fun cycling trips! Everyone is very nice and friendly! Joe is a great ride leader and trip organizer. I joined the 80 mile trip to Poughkeepsie and had a wonderful time!
As a visitor from the UK I'm always looking for something unique from the bike shops I visit and this had it all. A really cool owner that I feel would be just as friendly if you bought or not, thoroughly recommend.
Joe who owns the shop is incredibly helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a new bike or some accessories I highly recommend 718 Cyclery.
Bought my bike from Joe three years ago. He made a great recommendation and has provided support whenever I pop in for an adjustment.
New Update still 5 stars: Joe is really the man. He makes the buying process very easy and is very communicative. He's relocated in Brooklyn and I absolutely love new shop. Still has it's old style but now it's just him! He treats everyone with respect even during these challenging times. I bought a new bike recently and he completed the build very quickly shortly after receiving it. Thank you again Joe, will continue to come back. The mechanic Max did a fantastic job at aligning my derailleur hanger. Gave me an honest and fair price for the job that had to be done. Joe is always there when I visit and is very nice. This is a quality shop with real bikes and gear. Will be going here from now on whenever I need professional help.
