Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant

Wonderful atmosphere. Great food. Outstanding service. Would be great for a relaxed dress, quick bite ( tapas or something like that) or a longer, dressier, 'date night' meal. Love it! Will definitely go back.

We called ahead to make a reservation but we're unable to do so because of prom. (party of 15) No worries though, we showed up and we were told 45 minutes. We weren't concerned and ordered a drink at the bar. The bartender was nice. Before we could even pay for our first drink, our table was ready! The manager was very accommodating. Service was overall good. Our server was nice and the food was GREAT! We only wish they serves queso with their chips and salsa.... however they do provide multiple salsa options. We would recommend this restaurant to our friends and we will be back! Thank-you!!

I'm not usually a fan of Mexican food but I loved this place. It looks beautiful on the inside, with high ceilings and a balcony running all the way around. We all got margaritas and they came out pretty good. I didn't get a burrito because every other place I have gotten them, they are usually bigger than my head. A few people at the table got them and they were actually normal sized (that's to say, a normal person could eat one and you wouldn't be stuffed to the gills). I got the shredded beef and shredded pork enchiladas. The meat was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. The rice was some of the best rice I've ever had - well seasoned. Overall , if I'm ever back in OKC, I'll definitely be back.

The absolute worst. Paid over $60 and it was absolutely disgusting! The manager told me there was nothing he could do about. It was my first and last time eating there! They are way to pricey for their food to be that nasty! I would definitely recommend Tarahumara's there food is great and so is there staff! If I could rate this place a zero I definitely would have.

WORST SERVICE I was a first time guest and I had an awful experience. Waited almost an hour for a table,and then the server sucked. I don’t know if it was a long shift, or short staffed but something was definitely wrong. We ran out of chips and salsa early and it didn’t get replaced. Had empty glasses for way too long. Food took forever to get out. It was definitely over priced. I split something with a friend to save money. Then...I ordered a drink.. biggest mistake 1. There are no prices on the menu for alcohol drinks 2. I asked the server and was told the wrong price (He told me $7-8 and it ended up being $12) 3. It came out after I was done with my meal 4. It was watery and wasn’t that great It was obvious there was no team work at that restaurant, a manager didn’t even do a table check and the server didn’t even check in to see how we were liking things. Then the checks came out wrong and had to be fixed. The whole thing was a giant train wreck. Definitely won’t be back, and for a restaurant downtown that’s a big shock that it was a truly horrible experience.
