Academy Sports + Outdoors

The employees are good sports and helped accomplish some of my goals. I couldn't really find a good stair climber here so they should think about stepping up their game. The ball wasn't dropped in the team sports section. Had a good selection of about 15 baseball bats but that's just a ballpark number. Things were going downhill when I reached the skiing section but it could have just been the season. I took the bait and decided to check out the fishing section where there was a line of quality fishing rods. Tackling the football section was difficult it seemed more tailored for the younger crowd. I was surprised by the amount of seasonings and useful tools in the barbecue section but really got grilled when I knocked some things over. They have yetis which keep being cool even with the abominable price. Overall this is a pretty good store, I would say well within my league.

Loved the selection of workout clothes and shoes. They had a good sized clearance section too. The outdoor section was awesome and had a great selection of wood chips for the smoker. Best of all I was able to a super cheap kiddy pool for the dogs and it was larger and less expensive than the ones they were selling at the pet stores. It is definitely the best sporting goods store in the area and one of the nicest I've been to. I could spend all day there shopping.

My go to local store. Great prices and most of the time cheaper or equal to prices shopping online at other stores. Good staff most of the time. Wish they had a little more of what I need. They have a whole isle of holsters that are almost completely outside the waistband and are made for a small handful of popular pistols. Bicycle gear could be more updated and better brands instead of what you see at Wal-Mart. No presta valve 27.5 or 29 inch tubes. Fishing section is great! All and all nitpicking aside, its a great store to grab something you need or make a firearms purchase.

Largest selection of shoes I've seen almost anywhere. I went in for one and walked away with two pair. The only downside is they're not in order on the shelves so you really have to look. Lots of shoppers moving things around. If I lived local, it might be the store I'd drop by just to see what's on sale. It's a sports enthusiastic and outdoorsman hangout.

These guys have just about anything you'd need to workout or get active. They also have camping gear, guns(both airsoft and real), pool supplies, grills, and just about anything outdoors. They also have a nice clothing selection.
