I had been trying to get pregnant naturally on my own for six months before I decided to try acupuncture to get some help at a friend’s suggestion. I was tracking my basal body temperature methodically during the six months’ trial and believed I had four early miscarriages from the results of pregnancy tests and the menstrual cycles. I started worrying that I may have something wrong that prevented me from being able to carry through pregnancies in the very early stage. Dr. Song went through in details how to interpret my charts at our first appointment. She also gave me some possible scenarios why I had been having so many chemical pregnancies in the past six months. Her analysis gave me some comforts but also raised some potential issues if I continue having early miscarriage problems. I am a scientist and clinical researcher by nature. Dr. Song’s scientific background also helped me understand how acupuncture and other recommendations by her could improve my chance of successful pregnancy in the Western scientific terms that I can relate to. I tried another acupuncture clinic before I called HolliBalance Well-being Center. I didn’t feel the other clinic was helping me much and the practitioner at the other clinic never answered many of my questions. The treatments I had at the other clinic was only 45 minutes compared to the two hour treatment I got from Dr. Song. Since Dr. Song spent a lot of time explaining to me about my conditions and what treatment plan we could take, my first appointment ran about two hours and forty-five minutes. But at the end of my first treatment by Dr. Song, I felt very relaxed and went home having more confidence in my upcoming cycle trying to get pregnant again. Dr. Song could tell from my pulse at very early stage that I might be pregnant again. Under her meticulous care, I amazingly went through the six week scary stage even though I did have two days of very minor spotting. I am now in my second trimester and all the tests and ultrasound have shown a healthy growing baby. By the way, Dr. Song can also tell by pulse the gender of the baby at very early stage, much earlier than what the ultrasound can tell you. She told me the accuracy of that was around 70%. But for me her prediction was spot on. I felt I was very lucky to have met Dr. Song and carried through my pregnancy to the second trimester so far. I am a firm believer of acupuncture but I also recommend anyone who tries to get pregnant with the help of acupuncture to find the practitioner who really clicks with your personality and understands your body. I highly recommend Dr. Song and HolliBalance Well-being Center.

Dr. Zhao was very warm and welcoming. As this was my first time with acupuncture, I appreciated that she kept me informed throughout the process so I would know what to expect. It was overall very relaxing. It was also very easy to book!

Dr. Song helped me get pregnant two years ago after I had two ectopic pregnancies. I tried to conceive for my second child and again had a miscarriage. I came back to Dr. Song for some help. I got pregnant within one month of seeing Dr. Song and have been doing well with my pregnancy so far. I am now 12 week pregnant and I have not experienced significant nausea related to the pregnancy.
