They want you to pay a $50.00 per person above 18 for application as well as a $100.00 fee and then they will tell you if you will pay $20-70 a month for your pet. They will not give you any clue, before the non refundable fees. That is a $600.00 a year difference. I informed her, we have a 15 pound 11 year old dog & she still would not give me a clue on dog rent. My review is meant for this apartment complex. I informed person on phone, I would notify everyone in a review
I guess everyone has their own take, but any negative reviews don’t match my experience. I’ve lived here only eight months but everything has been entirely acceptable. Four and a half stars if there were half stars. I admit I’m not one to access amenities so I can’t speak to those who want a detailed review of Affinity’s amenities. My apartment was spotless and in good working order when I moved in. The kitchen cabinetry/design is very bare bones, but this can clearly be seen in photos on the website before signing a lease. The photos are accurate. I’ve gotten used to the appearance and have spruced it up just fine. The front office staff has been professional and responsive to any little need I’ve had. The maintenance staff is great. It was the review mentioning ‘roaches’ that most disturbed me about moving here. So let me address that: I am right near a trash room, which is kept quite clean and tidy. Six months after moving in I discovered one roach in my kitchen. An exterminator came promptly. I’ve not yet seen even a second roach. I will have the exterminator come in quarterly to keep my apartment bug-free but this is at no charge. Next to the trash room and one roach in eight months is acceptable to me. From New York, I find it very acceptable. All utilities included in the rent - including high-speed internet - makes the monthly payment a fairly reasonable value. All in all, a satisfied tenant.

I love living at Affinity of Albuquerque. Like many others here, I wanted to sell my house, downsize, and move to a place that was much easier to live in. Affinity of Albuquerque meets all of my needs. Instead of spending my time trying to keep up my house and pay for repairs, I am now able to focus on activities that I enjoy. In addition, I’ve liked everyone I have met here!
This place has roaches on the first floor. They're coming from the trash room at the south end of the building. My mom lives on the first floor and she's had two roaches walk into her apartment when she opened the door to leave. She told the managers, who have done NOTHING! There are still roaches in the trash room. This place is falling apart. The concrete on my mom's patio is crumbling. They claimed that they "fixed" it but it's still crumbling. She's afraid to complain too much for fear of retaliation from the manager and staff. Do not move here. It used to be a great place and then new management took over and it's gone downhill fast.
I'm selling my house and can't wait to move here. I have visited 3 times so far and met several of the staff - they are all wonderful. They have given me options available and are very understanding that this move is a huge life step. I have met some of the people and asked them if what they found out after they moved in that they wish they had known. They are all very pleased with their decisions. I'm happy the staff understand that we may need several visits to feel comfortable with selling a house and downsizing.
I have now lived at Affinity for almost 2 years. It just keeps getting better and better. I couldn't be happier. The entire staff is committed to providing excellent service. They are professional, efficient, and always ready to help. The amenities are far above average and the resident's are all friendly; put it all together and you have one terrific 55+ community.
I will NEVER refer any of my clients to Affinity. While the facility and amenities are nice, one of the staff that works there is AWFUL! I came to tour the facility, because I have a lot of clients who are needing this type of living and were greeted by Yvonne. She was rude and expressed she did not have any time to show me around, but I was welcome to show myself around. I went through the cafe to look outside at the courtyard and pool, she followed me and dead bolted the door so I could not get back in through that door. I found another door to enter, so I could exit the facility, which happened to be the library. There were 3 lovely residents in there who I apologized for interrupting, they immediately starting telling me how great it was to live there. Yvonne came and kicked me out! She told me I was not allowed to talk to the residents and I needed to leave immediately. The residents started defending themselves stating I did NOT engage them, they engaged me and were just telling me how great it was to be there. She said it did not matter and that I was not welcome there! This business is ALL ABOUT THE RESIDENTS! Without them, she does not have a job, and she needs to remember that! My parents, clients and myself will NEVER do business with Affinity due to the poor attitude and disrespect that was given by Yvonne!!
