African American Hair Salon

I was a walk in on a saturday afternoon (late) and they agreed to take me without an appointment. (Good sign). I did not have a particular style that I wanted and let the stylist do what was best for the shape of my head and I LOVED it. I will certainly go back. My hair is natural but she caters for all hair chemical treated, weaves and natural hair. Highly recommend!

I have been here a few times for a wash and to get my wig highlighted. When she didn't highlight my wig correctly (I asked for honey blonde, she colored my wig "Barbie blonde") I shouldn't have come back. But I wanted to support African American businesses. I came in for a sew-in and it turned out a hot mess. My hair was thin and bald on top, with no hair to cover the exposed tracks, and pieces of black thread was sticking out all over the top! She didn't even bother cutting the thread!!! I didn't get a mirror to see the back/top of my head to find out the next morning my hair looked horrible. The style, wash, partial relaxer (which didn't take as she washed it out after 3 mins) and sew-in cost $250. Ladies please trust the reviews. I deleted my first review as she agreed to other services to make me whole. It's been over a month and she still hasn't kept her agreement so you decided for yourself. She may excel at doing Caucasian hair but African-American styles, are not her specialty in my opinion.

i just moved to virginia 2 months ago i had been looking for someone to do my braids since i got here and i found her shop on google she was indeed a very nice lady we had been texting before i came and i sent her a picture of what i wanted and i warned her my hair was short so she would know keep in mind my hair has been this short before and i've gotten it braided plenty of times i left out of her shop the front looked fine she didn't even offer me a mirror to look at the back i get home and look at the back my parts aren't straight at all throughout my hair the braids are sloppy and my hair is coming out of the braids because the braids are entirely too big for how short my hair is in the back once again i've had my hair braided plenty of times before with it being this short and i've NEVER had this problem i texted her very nicely told her my issue she didn't respond so an hour later i sent a picture and asked her again would she like to redo it or give my money back on top of it looking an absolute mess she rushed because she had a client that was supposed to be coming anyways throughout us texting she kept giving me the run around saying my hair was short but my hair being short has nothing to do with why my parts are no were near straight my hair doesn't even look parted so she told me she does not do refunds and i said fine so we can redo it she ends up telling me she will not redo it because it will look the same way and she can't text me anymore because she was with a client i told her that's fine i will come to her shop and we can figure something else out she then tells me if i come she will call the police because at this point i'm threatening her and for $100 i can't tell her that's she's going to redo my hair never did i threaten her i simply said i will come and we can figure out something else to do with my hair and nothing i said to her could have ever made her feel threatened and for $100 i should definitely be able to come back to your shop and you be able to fix my hair because i did not get what i paid for i did not pay for my braids to be buldging my parts not to be straight or my hair to be coming out of my braids it's unacceptable UPDATE: those are the pictures i showed her of how i wanted my hair and that's my hair after she finished the same day and the hairstyle only lasted a week before the braids started coming out on their own and when i say coming out the one on the bottom was literally hanging i had to bobby pin it up to last the rest of the week before i got my hair redone and i tied it down every night

OMG! what a great service I received from this salon. The owner was great and knowledgeable on all the service questions that I asked of her. I received a great cut and color and already booked my next appointment

My hair is uneven and horrible blotches in the back...just horrible. ..If u dont know what ur doing just say so...instead of faking like you do for the money!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
