Aikido Schools of New Jersey

ASNJ has been a 2nd home to my family for over 4 years. My 11 year old and 5 year old have a blast and we have met people who have become family.

The school is great with some of the closest connections to the USAF headquarters out of NYC. The school is under the direction of Hal Lehrman who continues to study under Yoshimitsu Yamada, a direct student of the founder of Aikido and largely responsible for establishing Aikido in the United States. Hal is one of a hand-full of the highest ranking instructors in the United States so you are sure to get a great experience. Joseph Roy, the head instructor, along with his teaching staff are extremely experienced and you will learn as much as the time you are willing to put in. Students will experience a cooperative community and in addittion to ASNJ you will have access to Aikido of Park Slope and NY Aikikai among other affiliated Jersey schools. you can try a class any day of the week at various hours to fit your schedule. You need to stop by and catch the Aikido bug!

My second attempt to start studying this martial art. I want a learning experience, not just lifting weights or hitting something. Aikido teaches meditation, balance and is an amazing stress reliever after work. There are classes every day of the week. I go to evening classes after work. The atmosphere is inclusive and you will learn as much as you are willing to.
