This is the best hotel in the world. I stayed in this hotel for about 2 weeks after I had surgery and was burglarized. It was a horrific time in my life. The entire staff knew who I was and who my dog was. They checked in with me, helped me with rates, went beyond their jobs as my neighbors to see if I needed anything and gave me organizations to look into for help. The cleaning staff helped me keep the room clean while respecting my privacy in the midst of lots of anxiety. I will never stay anywhere else in NOLA if I have someone visit, even if it's out of my way. These people didn't have to treat me the way they did. And it made me feel safe and cared for at a time I had been deeply betrayed. I had no issues with anything while I was there and if I needed any maintenance or support the staff was there immediately. So stay at this hotel and know it is filled with humans who care and are good. Plus it's next to the hospital so security is great and parking is easy.
Clean and comfortable with a cute decor. Not fancy but clean and secure. Bed was soft, in room temp control and decent bathrooms. I've spent way more for less clean accommodations. The front desk attendant was kinda quirky. When asked about my total room charge, she said that was between me and "them people" lol but she was pleasant. Water pressure kinda low but free secure parking and a nice lounge area by the pool made up for it!
Very nice and clean room. Went to the front desk to ask them to change the battery in the safe and the guy was there to do it before I got back to the room. Great service and friendly staff. Free parking in a reasonably well lit lot across the street. No breakfast anymore?Rooms: 5/5
I stayed here 3 nights in November 2022 to attend a conference held downtown. I had no concerns about the neighborhood. A walk of one or two blocks takes you to a row of restaurants. My room and the hotel were clean. It was too chilly to swim in the pool, but it looked lovely and there were towels available outside for guests. The front desk staff and doorman were extremely professional and welcoming. If I ever return to NOLA, I will stay at Alder - I'm a picky guest so if I'm willing to come back for a repeat visit, then the establishment met some really high expectations. BTW, the coffee is incredible!
Very very clean and when you walked into the lobby you could smell the cleanliness. Beds and bedding absolute comfort. Taking my fur baby with me was super important and they actually had some treats for her. Will stay again if we travel back to New Orleans Nearby activities: Very near to uptown New Orleans
Pros: The price was very reasonable. I like that parking was right across the street & was included for free. Loved the MCM decor. Employees were pleasant & helpful. Cons: The bed was not comfortable. We had to ask for an additional blanket, it only came with a thin velour blanket between 2 sheets. Our doorknob seemed to be coming off and not all the light bulbs worked. Walls are pretty thin. Overall, it was more than adequate for our 24 hour stay and we were able to walk to the venue of the show we came to see. We'd stay there again but would likely look for a more comfortable bed if we planned on staying more than 1 or 2 nights.
Our visit was for recovery from surgery. The surgery unit was within walking distance from hotel. The doctor's office was also within walking distance. Many other resources and activities are very close to this location. Very comfortable and reasonable quiet which made the recovery very pleasant.Rooms: 5/5
This hotel is 9 miles from the centre. It's about a 20 min walk to the tram that goes through the garden District and then onto the centre. The rooms have character are modern, spacious, clean and the staff really helpful and friendly. It's a fab hotel in a tired location.
Overall experience was wonderful. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Location was great for Mardi Gras. Coffee maker in room didn't work, front desk offered to replace —but coffee was available in the lobby. Would recommend this hotel and will consider next time we visit NOLA!
Very cold in lobby, hallways and elevator. Only coffee available for breakfast. Very limited small snacks and some packaged mini meals for sale. Room was nice and clean, but needs new/cleaned carpet. Free secured parking! Food & drinks: Coffee 24/7. Can purchase limited choice of drinks
