I wonder if anyone ever wipes down the seats inside the station. I also wish they'd replace the electrical outlets. I tried to charge my phone and my cord would fall right out. They are old and "stretched ".

A nice, quaint little station conveniently located at the edge of downtown Alexandria. The quickest route to the nearby King Street Metro station is fairly well marked as well, which is a bonus for those commuting to DC who don't want to go all the way to Union Station on Amtrak or VRE.

I had booked a train that was supposed to leave at 7:20am. It left an hour and 15 minutes late. THEN sat on the tracks just after the firstbstation because of freight train traffic. God knows how much of this day Will be wasted on the train. My dad told me Amtrak was unreliable. And boy, is he right!

Old-timey rail station that is old without being run down. It exudes 20th century charm, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is for-pay, but if you're just picking up or dropping off you're probably ok for a few minutes without paying. The station is very close to Old Town Alexandria, and a two-minute walk to the King metro station. There are restrooms and snack machines available. If you have a choice between here and Union Station, choose here!
