All About Dance

My four year old is in her second year here. She loves it and would go daily if she could. My first impression was not entirely positive because of the closed door and I was upset that I couldn't see how she was doing. But she was always happy coming out of class and there were never any issues. Her first recital was dancing in a pink tutu with a teddy-bear wearing a matching tutu. It was the most adorable dance I've ever seen, with such a beautiful song that I still cry every time I watch the DVD. Although typical of all of the other studios, I wished some of the older dances were a tad more appropriate for children (e.g. young girls dancing in front of a 4-5 year old boy to the song "Teenage Dream" or doing a cabaret number ) but that's just me. One other note, there was so much emphasis on theater makeup and hair for the recital I panicked being that my daughter was 3 and I was not okay with that, but in the end there was no problem with her having just a little pink blush and lipstick and nothing else.
