Buyers Beware! On November 7, 2014, we signed a contract with All American Turf Beauty to install holiday lighting on the roofline and front windows of our home. We wrote a check for half the total amount, or $342. That check was cashed within a week. I called Daryl every few days to check when our lights would be installed. He said they were delayed by the early winter weather and could not give us an installation date. On Saturday morning, November 22, 2014, I called Daryl and he could still not predict an installation date. At that point, I said since it was getting late in the holiday season we wanted to cancel the install and have our deposit of $342 refunded. He agreed and said he would issue the refund right away and hoped to do business with us next year. Within 3 hours after we hung up, the All American Turf Beauty crew installed the roofline lights, but not the window lights, contrary to the verbal agreement with Daryl. We were home (in our basement) during this time but didn’t realize the All American Turf Beauty crew had shown up because they didn’t ring the bell and were gone in 30 minutes. The next day, our neighbor pointed out the install and we found a “job installation sheet” blowing in the bushes in front of our porch. It states that the crew began installation at 12:30 pm and finished at 1:00 pm on November 22nd. We immediately called Daryl on November 23rd and left a message telling him there was a mistake and the install was done after we had cancelled. He did not return our call. The next day, November 24th, we called and left another message on Daryl’s voicemail saying we had agreed that the lights were going to be cancelled but they were installed within hours after he agreed. We said in our message we wanted the lights removed, and our deposit refunded. He did not return our call. The next day, November 25th, we called and left another message on Daryl’s voicemail with the same information. He did not return our call. Finally, on Wednesday, November 26th, we called again and Daryl actually answered his phone. He proceeded to say he didn’t know the crew was scheduled to install our lights the day we called to cancel. He also said even though he had agreed to refund our deposit he wasn’t going to now that the lights were up. We told him that the lights around the two front windows still weren’t installed and he could not give us an answer as to when that would be. We AGAIN requested that the lights be removed and our deposit refunded. Daryl threatened to take us to court and promptly hung up on us. We then received in the mail a final invoice for the balance of the lights ($343) in the mail. We did not pay this bill. On December 6th, we went outside and realized the lights along our roofline were gone. Again, there was NO communication from All American Turf Beauty about this, and we did not even know they had been at our home. Bottom line: we paid $342 for lights that were installed and removed within 2 weeks. All American Turf Beauty never communicated any job status, never completed the work under contract, and reneged on a verbal cancellation order. BEWARE!
